Pregnancy Symptoms

Hi ladies,
I've been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms and wouLd like to ask your advice. I usually have regular cycles of 28 days, sometimes 30. That means that I should have ovulated around the 11/12/13 July. My husband and I 'did the deed' on Sunday the 12th. I starting cramping on the 13th in the evening. It felt a bit like period pains (I never camp around ovulation time). This went on for about 4 days but I'm still feeling exhausted and sometimes I have trouble sleeping. I did have my period therafter. The symptoms died down but my aerolas are extremely puffy/dark and swollen. The nipples themselves have also darkened. The doctor at the time thought it could be a yeast infection on the nipple but it still hasn't gone back to normal even after ten days cream. I visited the pharmacist whilst on holiday and he said to test again and I did three weeks ago and it was negative. I got my period a week after that. The question is could it at all be likely to be pregnant even though I've had my period twice and a negative pregnancy test?

My feeling is that you are very unlikely pregnant. Since your signs started at ovulation time, not at implantation time, I'm wondering if something went wrong with the ovulation - a cyst maybe. It's no fun feeling exausted all the time. You need to go back to the doc to find out what else is causing your hormones to be upset.

@grandpa viv thanks for your reply! any ideas what the puffiness of the aerolas and darkening of the nipples could be? It is both breasts and I don't have any discharge or anything coming from the nipples.

19-Aug-2015 my wife is pregnant for 7weeks and 5days base on ultra sounds equipment but I remember that we have contact or sex in July-02-2015.So,base on the record the baby in womb is advance of 7days.Its possible to happenĀ  that the age of baby in womb is advance in contact date.

By convention weeks of pregnancy are counted from the last menstrual period which in this case computes as June 26th. The pregnancy actually began at ovulation ten to fourteen days later. Sperm from sex July 2 could have survived inside her until July 6th or a day or two later. Hope this sets your mind at ease.

Thank you Granpa,

So, the baby in her womb is 100% is mine? or not?

@grandpaviv thanks for your reply. I went to the doctor and he referred me to the hospital. They did both mammograms and an ultrasound on my breasts but could not find anything. She spoke to the gyno and she said to test to check i was not pregnant - this came back negative. The doctor did however mention that the nipples were still swollen and did advise to come back if the swelling does not go down.

I've now been experiencing some new symptoms and would like to ask you advice. My last period was the 23 august and I usually have pretty regular periods (although the last was 27 days - I have never been early before). This means I was due on Sunday 20 Sept. We did try to conceive around ovulation. I visited the doctor Monday as I was not feeling well (cold) and asked her about some pretty bad acne that I currently have on my face. She mentioned that whilst she was listening to my breathing, she had noticed that I had a lot of small spots on my back and she said it looked hormonal. At this point, I mentioned that there was a possibility that I may be pregnant and she said she agreed. I took a pregnancy test on Tuesday but that came back negative and I still haven't got my period. My breasts feel a lot fuller/heavier but do not really hurt like they do before a period and I had cramping for a few days about a week/ week and a half ago. I've also had some random nauseau the last few days (but I'm not sure if this is because I haven't been feeling too well). Do you think there is a possibility that I might be pregnant and I've just been testing too early?

p.s. you mentioned that the swelling of the aerolas could be coming from a cyst. Would this warrant me going to the gyno?

Hmm. I hate to second guess doctors. You have several symptoms that suggest hormonal upsets. They can come from pregnancy, an ovarian cyst, or gland malfunction. Pregnancy tests check on the first, ultrasounds the second, and maybe blood tests the third. You should keep calling the docs until they get it figured out. Pregnancy tests almost always give a positive by the time you are two weeks late.

@grandpaviv thanks for your reply. I meant that I was two days late on Tuesday. That would mean I'm four days late today....

I had an ultrasound done by the gyno aroud 6 months ago (everything looked perfect according to the doctor) and had a cervical smear done (came back negative). I read online if it is a cyst that they usually just disappear after a while.

Yes, a cyst often resolves by itself. You can go back to the doc i you get worried because your symptoms have gone on for too long or have become too annoying. GL!

Okay so my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. He came in me. My period was a lot lighter than usual. I have had diarrhea (sorry for detail) my boobs are tender, my whole body acts but the pregnancy test was negative

Grandpa Viv - October 18

Annette, it's possible the test was too early. If your incident was Sept 12th, you ovulated Sept 19th with a period expected Oct 3rd and a test Oct 10th there would be good rreason to run another. Use first morning pee. If it is still negative you may have some other problem causing your signs.
