the guy i'm with is older so its not legal so should i not put his name on the birth certificate and if not then can i give the baby his last name with out them knowing its the fathers last name or do i have to give him my last name??

I knew a girl in the same situation. The father ended up in jail. They don't speak and he never sees his daughter. You can give the baby any last name you want. And with the birth certificate, if he's not there for delivery you have to claim "unknown". If you insist they will have him sign the doc_mentation and then everyone will know who the father is. My best advice? Say you don't know who the father is and give that baby your last name! It's your baby. It's your blood line. It should have your name. Femme Covert was out two centuries ago.

I AGREE WITH SASHA.

I think a lot of single mothers-to-be have a hard time deciding whether to give their child it's father's last name or their own. I know you want to give your baby his/her dad's last name, but is it really worth the trouble and consequences it could cause. If it's really important to the two of you, you can always change your child's last name once you're of legal age.

I would deffinetly not give the baby it's fathers last name. It's better for everyone involved. Your so young and you don't know what the future will hold for you and your baby. In a couple of years you could not even be with the father of your baby. Trust me when I say life rarely turns out the way you planned. Give it your last name and when you reach legal age and if your still with the baby's father, then he can legally adopt the baby and give it his last name with your consent. You never know, you might fall madly in love with someone else and get married and want to give your child their last name. I'm not giving my baby it's fathers last name and I'm 27. Plus, your the one that's going to be the main person in this baby's life so it should have your last name and you should be proud of that. Good luck with whatever you decide. : )

Do your parents know that you are pregnant? Do you have health insurance if you dont in order to get insurance through the state you have to work with the state to figure out who the father is other wise they wont help you. True your helping the father out by not putting his name on the birth certifacte. But at the same time your hurting yourself as well as the baby. I just learned this because i have just got insurance through the state and just because you have a fathers name on the birth certifacte all that means is that the child has a legal father, which gives him a right to see the child but in the end YOUR the one that makes all of the legal decisions for the baby. If your worried that he might get mad and try to take the baby from you because his name is on the birth certificate well he cant because you had the baby when you where single and legaly he cant take or see the baby with out you saying its ok. You have primary custady and if he wants to get that he has to take you to court. How are you going to pay for this that is why i say put him on the Birth certifacate because then he has to pay child support to help you and the baby out and if he says he wont well guess what hun the state will make him. I know you dont want to get him in trouble but you have to think about how you will pay for having the baby and how you plan tosupport it.

you can give the baby any last name, but dont put his name as the father or he'll probably end up in jail.

how can the father be put in jail if it was consensual s_x?

?? - January 21

Consentual or not , she is a 13 year old child. If he is an adult, then it's against the law.

K - January 21

Consensual or not doesn't matter, if a girl is 13 and having s_x with someone 18 or older, it is considered statutory rape, no matter the situation. Any "man" 18 or over that does not realize that s_x with a 13 year old girl is disgusting and perverse deserves to be in jail!!!
