Hello,
I don’t know if you received any advice in terms of the adoption question you posed but here is what I can offer. When I was in my second year of college I unexpectedly became pregnant. I was dating my first true love at the time. He was young and scared (just like me). He wanted to support me as much as he could but his family felt just the opposite. They encouraged him to leave me (which he did). I was hurt and felt so alone and was not ready to raise this little girl. I was not ready to raise her and go to college. I was thankful that my parents knew someone who might be interested in adoption. They were a married couple who had been raising an adopted son and waiting for another. They had been waiting for a little over 5 years for the second. After lots of thought I decided that I should place this child with a family that was ready and more than willing. So I placed her for adoption. While it was a very difficult time for me it was the BEST thing for all of us. She was born a few months later and went home with them. I still get updates and know that she is very loved and blessed. I was then able to finish college (got a Healthcare Administration Bachelors degree) and then start a very wonderful career. I am 29 now and married (this was the first and last marriage for both of us). My husband is a wonderful man. He is 34 and was just waiting for the right woman to come along. He also is college educated and works for a wonderful company. They allow him to work from home. Which is a real blessing for us. We are now ready to start raising babies. We are now financially prepared and emotionally prepared. I couldn’t have done all this without the option of adoption. Hope this helps you some. Also understand that there are SO MANY out there wanting and waiting to adopt. I would love for you to email and let me know how you are doing. jengarnerhall@hot.rr.com
