I never went into labor on my own, so my dream of a VBAC was out. I had Carter James - November 30th, 2006 via C-Section, at 10:52 AM. He was 7 pounds, 3 OZ and 18 3/4 inches long! I was awake for my C-Section, and everything seem'd fine, Carter was out, healthy, etc... But when the doctor and the resident started to sew me up, my heart rate sky rocketed up to 165 beats per minute. They had to stop and get my heart rate down, with no such luck. So, they hurried, and since I was so groggy at this point I had no idea what was going on, but I felt like my whole body was one big beat. Boom, Boom, Boom. It was somewhat scarey. Then, I started to shake really bad. I was automatically put on a heart monitor, which stayed on me the three of the four days I was in the hospital. In recovery, I was told I would be there for a little less then 45 minutes. Once I got to the recovery room, I started to itch all over - it was HORRIBLE. So, I ended up staying in recovery for about three hours. By this time, I was almost in tears begging them to let me go to the birthing unit and into my room, so I could see and hold my baby! Anyways, He is just wonderful and I am so glad the pregnancy is all over with. He is a great little guy, my recovery from the c-section is going VERY well (up and about on the day after the surgery!), except in the hospital the pain killers were so strong I got a little loopy (nightmares, couldn't stop laughing), etc... So they had to lighten the dose :) B--t feeding is going awesome - and I could not be happier with him. I am in love! See you all in infant care & br___t feeding!
