Birth Registration Question HELP

Hi everyone, i am due anyday now and i have a question .me and my boyfriend are seperated ,he lives in new york ,i am in southern california, he wont be here for the delivery, but wants his name on the birth certificate,and the baby to have his last name, can i give his name without having him coming to sign some type of paper?

No he doesnt have to be there as far as I know. Every state might be different but in New Jersey he doesnt have to be there. If afterwords he wants to deny this baby, then just get a paternity test. If I were you I would call the hospital where u are gonna deliver tomorrow just to make sure the law in California. Im almost postive though that he wouldnt have to be there hun,

i forgot to add that giving the baby his last name ... that he might have to be there for.... def. not just for naming him as the father though.
