"After your first shot, use a backup method of birth control for the first 2 weeks." I found that on a depo shot website. The GYN I went to did not at all mention that to me...leading me to believe that I MAY in fact be pregnant. Am I the only one that feels I've been deceived? All they mentioned was that I'd be protected 24 hours right after the injection?

There is no need to take extra precautions. Your dr. didnt lie to you. With the pill you need protection for a few days but thats all it takes for it to entre your system. Relax!

I dont know anything about the depo shot...but my doctor always told me to use a backup method the first month on the pill.....I guess it's just precautionary to make sure the hormones have worked their way into your system.....
