How Bad Does This SUCK

I'm 8 wks. My BF is paraplegic and I get paid to do his housework. If I move in with him, I lose my job (obviously, they won't pay me to do my own cleaning!) He is on disability and if we get married, I will have to support him and claim for partial tax refunds. I don't make a lot of money as it is! Also, he has a rent subsidy. If we move, he will have to pay all his rent.(he only gets $800 a month and that is about the cost of rent itself) Also, if you are on disability, the government noses around to make sure you don't own anything of value, or you are expected to sell it and get your benefits only when you are flat broke. So, if we are married, I am worried they will penalize him/us if I own anything of value or have money saved. That's Canada for you! I am working on a degree to be a teacher, but until then, I don't see how we can get married and live together. I don't know what to do. He can't even get into my apt cause of the stairs and rent has gone up so much I don't know where I could move where it's accessible. Does anyone else have a partner with a disability and find that social assistance programs are just trying to keep you poor, not get you back on your feet? Is there any help for us?

I don't know anything about Canada's disability programs sweetie. Wish I could help you! Why don't you move to the states.......our government always wants to give foreigners money and a__sistance( and I don't mean that rude..in case it sounds that way) You can get your education and take care of your sweetie and find a decent place to live....well....I live in California and there are numerous programs pertaining to disablility, health insurance,a__sistance with housing, etc. Move to a place where life will be better for the two of you. Take care
