To Phoenix Rising. I went and they would not tell me anything. They also do not give ultrasound pictures. I asked and they said they dont even have a printer. I was mad so when I left I called a place in my city called "a storks view" and they actually had an opening yesterday. SO i went and I am having another GIRL!!!! I am going to confirm this with my doctor when I go back but she said she was 100% sure. I paid $100 to go but I got pictures and a 32 minute dvd and half of it was 3d, the baby was still very skeleton like because I am only 17 1/2 weeks but I feel it was worth it. I just couldnt see having this detailed baby book for my first born with 4 pages of sonogram pics and then only having 1 picture with this baby. AND Valentines Day wasnt too bad, I got my 6 yr old a movie and a purse and she was thrilled so...so was I!!! We are happy about another little girl!!!

I have my ultasound today and I will flip out if they don't tell me the gender of my baby. I've been looking foward to this day all month. I certainly hope they can give me a copy too. I live in Canada and I think they have to tell you if you want to know here. My Valentines Day didn't turn out as bad as thought it would. It's so easy to be negative when your pregnant. My ex shocked the hell out of me by leaving a huge bouquet of flowers on my dinning room table(he still has my key) with a note that said "thinking of you" I ended up going out with a bunch of girlfriends of mine and we wen't out to eat and went and did kereoke so it turned out ok. Better than sitting at home and crying about being alone. Thanks for all your support everyone. :)

nikol, did they tell you the gender?

Yes they told me the gender. I'm having a boy! They also gave me the option of buying a 2D picture for $15 or a 3D picture for $25. I bought the 2D one. It was so awesome. I cried my eyes out when the technition showed me the screen.

I can't believe they made you pay for a picture. I had my ultrasound done twice... once at 21 weeks and once at 24 weeks. BOTH TIMES they gave me 3 pictures for free... and I had brought a video tape with me each time so they recorded the ultrasound for me. Ladies.. when you go to ultrasounds, take a blank videotape with you and ask them if they can record the ultrasound. I remember when I was pregnant, if I got sad or my ex upset me.. I'd just watch that tape and could see my beautiful baby girl. Cheered me right up.

Well congrats on your boy nikol!! Have you thought of names? I have a name picked out but I have stopped sharing it with family and friends because they are giving me a hard time about it.....I know you are happy they told you. When i went to the imaging center and they told me that they wouldnt do anything I was thinking about the pregnant girls who cant afford to go somewhere to find out what they are having and i just thought about how hard it must be for them to have to wait to find out, esp if you are single, you really need the prep time. I have changed doctors because of this incident and have gone to a place that seems to be highly recommended and they give you the choice of how you want to deliver. I was told at my other office I would have to have a c-section because I had one with my first but am unsure of how I actually want to deliver. I am still considering a c-section because of the risks of a vbac but its nice to have the choice. And yes taking a video tape is a good idea but dont get too disappointed if they cant. The place I went said they didnt even have the capability to print a sonogram picture. Thats why I was so mad!!! I have good insurance and I work for the company that carries me, I surely could've gone some where else if I wouldve known. I have been reading around some of the other threads and it seems this is a little more common than I thought. Good luck to all of you....
