Should I Tell Fathers Parents About The Baby

I am 7 months pregnant, the father left me as soon as he found out that I was pregnant. He comes from a great family, but has no intentions of ever telling them about his son. He has no plans to ever know his child. My question is this, do I take it upon myself to inform his parents about our baby? I think that they have every right to know, but should I let him decide whether or not they should know? I'm very confused, I would love for them to be a part of my sons life after he is born, but am not sure when or if to tell them about their grandchild. Anybody have any advice???

I told my ex's parents and neither one cared! Be prepared to hurt. It could turn out wonderfully, but it could hurt. It's like the expression, "the apply doesn't fall far from the tree.." My ex's parents are just as nasty and heartless as he is!

Thank you for your advice:) I won't keep my hopes up, I'll expect the worse, but hope for the best.

HI, HON. I POSTED THE EXACT SAME QUESTION ANOTHER PREGGO AND SINGLE BOARD AND THE POSTERS IN TURN RESPONDED BY TELLING ME THAT IT WASN'T MY PLACE TO TELL HIS PARENTS. BUT YOU KNOW IT'S ALL UP TO YOU. I DECIDED NOT TO BECAUSE I HAD A SMALL HUNCH THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO TELL AFTER RECIEVEING THOSE RESPONSES. AND TO MY SURPRISE I RECIEVED AN E-MAIL FROM A CERTAIN BD AFTER ABOUT 3 AND 1/2 MONTHS OF NO COMMUNICATION FROM HIM AT ALL. AND TO MY AMAZEMENT, HE HAD ALREADY TOLD HIS FAM AND HE'S EXCEPTED HIS ROLE AS A FATHER. IT'S SOMETHING I'VE PRAYED ABOUT FOR SOME TIME NOW. SO I GUESS WHAT MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO GIVE HIM TIME TO TELL THEM BECAUSE 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 HE'S GETTING PREPARED IN SOME WAY TO TELL, OR HE'S PROBABLY ALREADY TOLD THEM. IF HE HASN'T AND YOU DO DECIDE TO TELL THEM WEIGH YOUR OPTIONS ABOUT WHY YOU WANT THEM TO KNOW. I KNOW WE BOTH PROBABLY HAD THE EXACT SAME REASONS WHY WE THOUGHT THEY SHOULD KNOW AND WE ARE BOTH SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT. BUT APPROACH THAT DECISION WITH SOME CAUTION. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED FOR WHATEVER REPSONSE THEY GIVE YOU IN RETURN, IF ANY, AND I HOPE FOR THE BABY'S SAKE, IT'S A POSITIVE ONE. I HOPE YOU DON'T GET HURT IF IT ISN'T A POSITIVE ONE, BUT GO ON KNOWING THAT YOU DID YOUR BEST AND YOU DID IT FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS. I HAD ALSO PROMISED MYSELF THAT IF MY BD HADN'T CONTACTED ME OR TOLD HIS FAMILY BEFORE THE BABY WAS BORN, THAT I WOULD DEFINITELY SEND THEM PICS AND WRITE THEM A LETTER AS SOON AS MY SON ARRIVES IN FEBRUARY AND TELL THEM THEN. THAT WAY THEY HAVE SOME SORT OF PROOF AND THEY CAN TELL FOR THEMSELVES IF THE KID IS HIS BECAUSE MY SON LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE HIS FATHER ( ULTRASOUND TOLD ME SO :)). SO THINK LONG AND HARD ABOUT THIS AND DO WHAT YOUR HEART TELLS YOU. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST SWEETY , WITH YOUR DECISION. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.......
