I am going to be a single mom ( 15 weeks pregnant with my first ) and just watching and reading the news worries me. All I hear about now a days is fathers of children who are not married to the mother and even if they are married and just seperated killing their children and or mother. I am just so scared because you don't know how well you know a person and if my babys father wants to be part of my childs life..how do I know my child is safe and what not. It seems like every day in the news there is a story about a baby or toddler being killed by their father...yes I hear a lot about mothers killing their children too and its not just the fathers but I am just extreamly scared.

There is air pollution, failing ozone layer, the chance you will be hit by a car, we could think of any reason to never leave our bed for fear of some thing bad to happen. If you are worried about your babys father, have your mom meet his parents and start some kind of contact. Get to know them and perhaps you will realize there is nothing to worry about.

I know with all that stuff I should be worried too. But I don't know. My parents couldnt meet his parents because I'm pretty sure his parents don't even know. I haven't talked to my baby's father in about 3 months now and I am just over 3 months pregnant. I'm a__suming he's either scared of just an a**hole.

Don't blame him for something you are not sure of. I think any unexpected pregnancy in an unstable relationship is a shock and people react differently. I was married and we both had good jobs, our own place etc. and when we found out I was pregnant if freaked us out so badly! It took us weeks to come to be happy about it...Good luck
