This may be a silly question but do you guys think it's ok for a pregnant woman to go out to a night club? I'm sick of staying at home and thinking about how my ex is out there going to bars and having a good time. Where I live there is no smoking in bars now and obviously I wouldn't drink so do yout think it's ok? Does the loud music affect my baby? I know they can hear what's going on on the outside but would this be too loud for my baby to handle?

It depends on how pregnant you are. I went to a nightclub when I was 4 months. I wasn't showing. I was still freaked out because it was so crowded. and I was afraid of bumping my baby.

I used to bartend at a nightclub and i've seen a few pregnant women out...i, personally, quit working at 22wks though b/c of the smoke and loud noise. I know you don't have to deal with the smoke, so i think it should be alright as long as you don't expose the baby to the loud noise too often. Just don't make a habit of going out.

I think it's fine. I went out to non-smoking bars with some of my friends when I was pregnant (and was showing). I think I was 5 or 6 months. It was fun and good to get out of the house for once! I'm not sure about the loud music though. I think you'd be safest to just call your doctor's office and ask your doctor or a nurse what they think. You might also be able to find the answer on a website like babycenter.com or something. That way you can answer that question for sure and not have to worry about the music effecting your baby. If you get the okay from a professional you'll probably feel much better about going out.
