What Should My Baby S Last Name Be

My boyfriend and I have been together for 8 years and I am 37 weeks pregnant with our only child together and it is a girl. We are not currently living together. I have an 8 yr. old son by someone else and he has a 7 yr. old son by someone else. My problem is that his son has major problems with behavoir, wanting to hurt other people/animals, his mother also allowed him to learn things that no child should know (s_xual things) He hasn't been s_xually abused the knowledge came from over hearing her and adult movies that he would sneak to watch. I don't like him being around my son for these reasons and more. It terrifies me of what he could do to my new baby girl. So I am not moving back in with the baby's dad because I refuse to put my son and new baby in danger by allowing his son to teach them inappropriate things and hurt them. With all the strain his son is causing on our relationship I don't know if we are going to make it as a couple. So I don't know what last name to give my daughter. Should I hyphenate her last name, give her mine or give her his.

You do what YOU want to do... I am not with my kids father (10 wks preg) and i have a 10 year old which has my last name... So with my new baby i will keep his/her name the same as mine so we are all the same.. But it is your choice and no one elses..

Shay if i were you i would definately give my daughter my name. we aren't in the old ages anymore and so therefore arent forced to give the child the father's name. i personally think that if someone has serious intentions to marry the father etc then the baby should probably take on his name (or both) but not in a situation like this. i personally dont think it sounds nice when the mother has a totally different surname to that of her childs. i get so many clients like that and its hard to tell whose kid is whose when they mess around with the surnames and don't just give the child their surname. good luck whatever you decide.
