i wouldn't freak over it so much. being worried can stress your baby. I was the same way except I drank until I was about 5 months.. It didnt sink in until I started feeling movement that "hey I'm having a baby" However I prayed everyday that my baby would be ok and not be punished for my mistakes. Now she will be 9 months in 6 days and is health and actually learning sooner than most...God really answered my prayers!!!!!! He will yours too. Good luck and congratulations on your baby!

I heard that at about 6 weeks to 10 weeks is the most critical time for an emybro to develop birth defects. I drank quite a bit until about 4 weeks pregnant ( when i found out). My MD was not concerned about it at all. The best thing you can do is to stop drinking now and take good care of your health. You can have tests done now to determine if there are defects like maternal blood testing, ultrasound, ect. The majority of babies are born healthy and a lot of my friends were in your same situation and they delivered healthy babies.

Wow. There really is a lot of misinformation here. The truth is that there is no known safe limit. Likewise, here is no known UNSAFE limit. We know HEAVY drinking is not a good idea, but what about moderate or social drinking? Some seem to get away with it, while others don't. In one study I read done by DOCTORS...(I tried to no avail to find the link) there was an increase in ADD and ADHD related symptoms as well as aggression and behavioral problems in babies born to mothers who drank more than 7 drinks per week. There was no definitive link to anything in babies born to mother who had less. One key factor was how those drinks were consumed. 7 over 7 days is a lot different than 7 in an hour. BUT here is the very very good news from the study. Both women who consumed less than 7 drinks per week, AND women who stopped drinking midway through pregnancy did NOT have the increased risks a__sociated with ADHD. This suggests that even if you got off to a bad start, there is still time. The body and babies are very resiliant. I have had 5 and am pregnant with number 6. I have had things like Chicken pox during one pregnancy, a kidney infection in another, and with one I didn't know I was pregnant and had been drinking. This happens all the time. There is no need to frighten each other with baseless statistics. The state is not taking babies away from mothers who did not know they were pregnant. One or two drinks does not cause FAS. Your body is an amazing place for a baby to grow and thrive. Odds are very good that things are fine, and you can increase these odds by choosing a healthy lifestyle from here on out. Have an ultrasound done between 18 and 20 weeks. This is the best time to look for any defects. Odds are there wont be any and you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy with a cup of cocoa! Save teh champagne for after the birth!

its to late to worry about it but there is a chance that it will have efected the baby in some way because its not safe to even drink a gla__s whilst you are pregnant there is a chance that your baby will have FAS which will mean that your baby may be adicted to alcohol or it may have effected the outter skin of your baby or the develop mental part of the baby but just remember not to drink in the future while you are pregnant i wish you all the best and hope that your baby is good and healthy... you may want to go see your local gp

FAS is caused by excessive amounts of alcohal during pregnancy, especially liquors. Drinking is not recomended during anytime of pregnancy, but alot of people say it is safe to have a gla__s of wine at night during the 2nd and 3rd trimester. In Europe women drink all through their pregnancy and I have a friend that drank wine everyday with both her kids and they are very bright and beautiful. No one really knows how much is too much while pregnant (of wine) I would say never liquor though it seems very unsafe.
