Hi, i have a 5 month old who i love more than anything however she was a result in a one night stand and i cannot remember his name or where he is from. I am ashamed of what I did but will never regret having my child. At the time i was seeing someone, who there is no chance is the father, and we broke it off when he found out i was pregnant and got back together a month later. He has been there for me through the whole pregnancy and was even there when she was born and looks at her as if she was his own. He would like to adopt my daughter once we are married. I have been doing a lot of research about how to do this and it seems that you have to contact the father and ask for his permission. Obviously that is not an option for me because i have no idea who he is or how to find him. So how would i go about getting her adopted without the fathers permission? I mean don't get me wrong If I ever found out who he was I would want to get to know him give him every right to see her it's only fair. But i have to move on with my life and my fiancee is part of our life now. Can anyone Help or have any advice for me

This is not the legal advice you should be seeking, so here's my guess. The birth certificate lists no father. Once you have married there should be little problem with an adoption if you can convince the authorities you have tried to find the father without success. If the father later shows up he would have to prove paternity through DNA and would then have to pay child support. This is not likely to happen.
