if you really are being protective , your only option is to disappear out of his life like dust in the wind never to be seen again . Around 1830 women's a__sociations started to form called the 'Moral Reform Societies'. This is what led to the Victorian 'prudish' era. Moral Reformers were suffragist women who fought against the double standard. Before 1830 women were the ones punished if they slept with a man and got pregnant and they were most often thought of as seductreses and not to be trusted because of the wild ways of their s_xes. Men used this argument to keep women subserviant. Well this lead the Moral Reformers to fix the double standard, reform prost_tutes who they thought were victims of male persuasion. In the mid 1850's the Female Moral Reform Society of New York lobbied a bill making seduction a crime for the male participant. I, unfortunately, think we are going backwards in time, where women are once again thought of as evil 'lillith's', and were men get away with sleeping with whomever they want. Yes, look up the term 'feme covert'. A married women didn't have any rights what-so-ever. All her property, her belongs, and herself belonged to her husband. This included her children. Divorce was never an option because she wouldn't be able to keep her children. The mother and the child not being separated is a 20th century ideal.
