I am 8 months and live in texas. Does anyone know any legality issues involved with giving my baby the fathers last name because we were never married and not together? I have heard rumors if I do I cannot leave out of state? Does anyone know?

I live in Ontario,Canada so I expect it's a lot different up here but I couldn't give my baby her father's last name unless he signed the birth registration form. Is the father willing to give the baby his last name? If he's not then you can live pretty much wherever you want. Good luck.

U can name ur baby anything u want, well alteast here in VA. Im not married and when i was filling out the form to name my baby i just put his last name, and so thats the last name she got.
