I think the chances are there. Your child could carry a gene from someone else down in the family line. My aunt for example has blondey red hair, hazel eyes, very light skin complexion. Her brothers and sisters all have dark brown hair, dark eyes, dark skin. My grandmother and grandfather (her parents) have dark eyes, hair and skin. The rest of our family is the same way, all dark. It just so happens that my grandfathers dad was scottish and even though my grandfather didn't seem to have a carried any of the genes (appearance wise) but they were pa__sed on to my aunt, and in a very very visible way. Sooo...I guess it could happen.

there is always a chance. but if you have reasons that extend beyond hair color, my friends son took their child and paid to have a priviate DNA test done. No the mother did not know, but he felt it was needed due to her cheating.

I have light brown hair, my dd's father is blonde, my fathers hair was black, my mother is blonde, my bf parents are blonde and brunette but my daughter has red hair. I was told that red hair is a recessive gene that pops up out of the blue. Those that are Viking descent are most likely to see it somewhere in their family.

Yeah, I know red hair can pop out of nowhere... there are two children (on opposite sides of my family) who have red hair.. and they are the only two people that I know of in my family who have red hair. It's crazy how that works.

If you are really concerned have a DNA test done.

Kevin - Given the situation get a DNA it not only for your protection but also for the child. It certainly will give you a piece of mind and if ant medical conditions were to arise you would know who the father is. She should not take offense to this since she has been involved with two men and she should have the childs best interest first. If the shoe were on the other foot and a woman came and said she was pregnant by you and your wife had knowledge this women had been involved with other men, she would ask you to take a DNA. She probably would tell you get one regardless. Give yourself a peace of mind and never have doubt. Do it through a private testing lab. The cost is well worth it vs. paying years of support and bonding with a child to later find out was never your child. Men do not recover paid cost. Peace of mind is the greatest sleeping pill !

I just read an article about red hair and it says anyone could have a red haired baby because the red hair gene is a mutation of another gene. It is also genetically pa__sed down by parents. Pretty much anyone could have a red haired baby even if no one in their families has red hair.

You should look at a biology text book. Research the stuff on recessive genes. But it seems very likely that your child has red hair from you! You do have a reddish tinted goatee. My mother had red hair as a child, b ut now it's very dark. Red hair just seems to pop up like that.
