Should I Try To Find His Parents

i'm lost as to what i should do . it's a long story basically i have a 5 month old daughter whose father never wanted her. he's been gone from the day i told him i was pregnant. he's seen her once when she was three months . i dont have any contact info from him othern than an email address and i dont know any of his family or friends. i'm sure they dont even know that he has a daughter eventhough he says he told his family. i've never spoken nor met them. should i try to find his parents and let them know they have a grandchild? for my daughter's sake at least.
