you concieve 14 after the day you started your period. If you started your period on a Monday, you concieved two Monday's later.

I sense a "who is the father" question behind this. The confusion arises when the doctor tells you you are, say, 12 weeks pregnant. By convention the pregnancy is dated from the beginning of the last menstrual period. The gestational age of the pregnancy is 2 weeks less, or 10 weeks in this case. The guy you had s_x with the month after the period is the father, not the month before.
