To be honest, it's not just louisiana...georgia and other southern states seem to have VERY high teen pregnancy rates. Birth control is accessible...Yet, southern families are so "traditional and religious" (as a friend put it) that the children and parents don't have as open of a relationship as they think. Parents and teens don't talk if they can get away with it. (I was raised with a Southern Traditional Family who didn't enjoy the idea of me even leaving the HOUSE.) I watched all of my friends have babies...one after the other. Enjoy your youth WITHOUT children. Learn birth control...it's not expensive and it's not that difficult to come by. I'm 22 years old, married, and have outlived my friends already...I enjoy things they can only WISH for. Think it over before you have s_x. (By the way...I STILL have no children!)

The teenage years are a difficult time: hormones raging, feeling stuck in between being a kid and being an adult, being pressured by peers to be "cool". They are keen to grow up and try adult things (s_x included) but don't consider the consequences. If their parents don't or won't talk to them about the real world, then of course they will eventually get into trouble.

i think because they dont have enought information about how to protect themselves about getting pregnat so they should be more information about preventing pregnancy

im 16 and im pregnant , its kind of hard not get pregnant i meen things happen take this for example i was on birth control and taking it like i was supposed to and i became pregnant and just like most people say god gives you miracles in your life and he doesnt give you things you cant handle ..and just like older women teens have horomones to i meen were only human !

'it's kinda hard not to get pregnant'. Well, I'm 24 and so far no kiddies! Accidents do happen but you cannot say it's hard not to get pregnant. If that were true no s_xually active person would be childless! lmao ;-p

it's not just teens, it's anyone who is enjoying the moment and not thinking of the consequences. People, especially teens, don't know how hard it is to have a child. Therefore, they don't worry at the time. Too bad though, children deserve stable lives.

I forgot to mention, just think of all the diseases there are out there. To the 15 year old s___t...pregnancy is not the only consequence.
