Yeah, this was all supposed to be just funny things that all parents go through... notice how at the top it says 'Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent' That was supposed to discourage any arguments.

I think it is funny, but yeah, that's as far as it goes when I punish Addy, she's almost 2 so she understands and she knows NOT to touch the stove NOT to touch the iron.. etc. Prefer that smack on the hand versus a burn :(

Teaching your children takes time, the grocery store joke is an example of your children in the process of learning. You act like your kids have NEVER done anything wrong and they just sit and obey every single thing you say and are not the least bit curious about anything at all. You used an example that they are told not to write on the walls... Wouldn't they have had to write on the walls in the first place for you to tell them not to?

Amanda I meant the "So why don't you read lesson two over again and shut up :) ". I do understand all the points you make. I know it's meant to be a joke and yes I did find it funny, read it before somewhere actually. But it's a subject close to my heart. I wasnt allowed to misbehave when I was younger, I had the c___p beaten out of me by my stepfather, and later, other things which I won't go into, it isn't a nice subject. I'm sorry girls for sounding harsh. Durante baby yeah b___d was harsh... could say that b___d in the true sense of the word as in a child from unmarried parents, I know my child was! But oh do I love the little chicken. Oh yes my child once wrote on a wall... first and last time! DB I'm glad it's made you the mother you are, I think the same has happened with me. I just chose to never hit my child because with me, it didn't really teach me not to do things, it just terrified me to even make a sound. But yeah I've done the tap on the hand too, some things you have to do when your child is in danger.

I know exactly how you felt about just sitting and not makeing a sound cause you are terrified of your own parent....Im sorry you had to go through all that as well. I just hope you also look at it the way I do. Meaning useing the way you were raised to better yourself as an adult.
