So my sister is having a bbq on our patio, I went out there to take Ellie on her routine walk around the block. This girl stopped me and asked me a few questions about Ellie (i.e. what's her name, how old is she etc etc) so I was fine with stopping and making small talk with her. Then this guy came up to me, and asked if he could hold her... so I let him. Then he asked me "who's the father?" I was slightly offended but I tried to shrug it off. "My boyfriend is." THEN he said "Oh. Is he a white guy?" I didn't answer at first, I just kind of glared at him and said "Don't you have a klan meeting to attend?" and snatched Ellie away from him. He started yelling at me telling me she was an abomination! I was so mad! I live in California, we have a lot of different people from all sorts of cultures around here... And I pretty rarely come across anyone truly racist. I just can't believe he would say that to me, with my daughter in his arms even! I really, deeply hope that kind of ignorant thinking has died off by the time Ellie is old enough to understand that kind of c__p... She doesn't deserve to hear any of that. Harold is Hispanic by the way, and I am white.... I think Ellie's skin color is beautiful. It's like coffee with extra creamer :) Anyway I was just pretty offended by that and I wanted to rant.

that is really wrong amanda im sorry that happened to you, but please please do not let a stranger hold your baby, i have heard so many storys about babys getting snatched that way, im not saying it to be mean i just dont ant that to happen to you. all it would of took that guy was to run with elli in his arms. be careful

i am so very far from making judgements based on race and i think some people are just ignorant when it comes to accepting other cultures. but knowing that some people are just idiots is a good reason not to let just anyone hold your baby. why did you let a stranger hold your baby?

Wow reading this scared ME! I could not imagine a stranger coming up to me and asking to hold my baby. Id take off running. Wow, i just...i dont even know what to say. Thats scary.

they where obv people her sister know, hense they where all on her patio having a bbq, but of course another one of amanda's rants is going ot get turned aroud on her >_< Amanda- im sorry that you had to hear that, its just right some of the things ppl say, i knew a girl who was alot older than me growing up and her family was VERY rascist and she got pregnant with a black guy and he wanted to stay around di things right yeh no? and they told her if she didnt abort ot they wouldnt talk to her ever and well now her lil guy is 4 i think and she hasnt talked to her family since the day she walked outtathere house and moved in with her bf ....

He's not a stranger. His name is Matt and he's my sisters (soon to be ex) boyfriend's friend. I've met him a few times not knowing he had those opinions.

Oh. You said some guy came up and asked to hold her so i just a__sumed he was a stranger. Also because you left the bbq and were walking around the block. You really dont know who you can and cant trust these days. You think you know someone and they prove to be the opposite.

And I'm not scared by him, or that he was holding Ellie. It's not like he was going to hurt her or kidnap her or anything. I was offended by his race comment, he was remarking that she and her father are an inferior race... He's not a violent guy, he's just an idiot. He did get his a__s kicked by the end of the night though, because everyone else was just as offended by his ignorance as I was.

lol i managed to get that you hadnt left the bbq :D or that obv you knew him lol i dont think if some random guy walking down the street asked you to hold your daughter youd bel ike sure yupp go ahead lol :D but i guess without actually saying that in your post can be a lil confusing :D atleast newbaby had common sense enough not to lash out on you and tell you how dangerous ppl are. uggh

Haha I was just imagining walking down the street "oh hey nice trenchcoat on this warm summer day! Hold my baby a sec?" I'll have to write an incredibly descriptive post next time I want to rant about something haha. You want to know something pretty funny? I didn't even know Matt was white. He has brown hair, green eyes and very tan skin. Apparently he just likes to tan A LOT haha. He also has these tribal looking tattoos... I dunno. I just a__sumed he was somebody from some exotic place or something.

I reread it and realized where i read wrong. Im just so paranoid about anyone i dont really knoe being around my daughter. Im one of those moms lol. I hated it when she was an infant and innocent old women would come up and rub her hair or her hands. Honestly. i dont think Ellie looks "mixed". I didnt know Harold was mexican for a while and never thought she looked different. You dont have any pics of Harold on your myspace. Rylie was born very dark complected and me n Ryan are both very white, lol.She still is darker the both of us.

Yea i think i thought that bcuz i read the two replies before i really read the post. My mistake. I didnt think Amanda was that kind of mom, lol. And im usually so good at understanding posts, unlike some who just skim read then reply something b___hy. Then when they're proved wrong they admit they didnt actualy read it or they "missed that part"...

oh ashley give it a rest! me and new baby pretty much said the same thing we both got confused about the same thing yet you try to make little digs, just grow up. amanda i see what you mean but i just a__sumed from what i read lol like the fact you said this guy came up to me and you took her for a walk around the block lol i just thought oh she let a stranger in the street hold her baby. i wasnt jumping down your throat just saying be careful but obiously you are as i understand the story now. but anywho im glad that guy got his a__s kicked! sorry for the miss understanding

There is a picture of Harold on my myspace but he's like 15 in that picture haha. Still my favorite of us, he's pinching my face :) There are a bunch of videos and stuff with him in them. She's mixed, her skin would be a lot whiter if her father was white, I was like paper as a baby. I think Hispanics just tan really easily, if you look at Harold's legs they are like as white as I am haha, but then his shoulders are really dark cuz he works out in the sun all day. Since she's a baby, and not tan, she probably comes off as just white. *Shrug* She's beautiful regardless.
