They gave me some meds to stop my contractions and took me off work. It has only been 5 days and Im already going crazy ! Im scheduled for a c-section April 22, but I don't know if I can hold out that long:(

My suggestion to you is to take it one day at a time. I am currently alomst 30 weeks and have been on bedrest since 23 weeks. My first week of bedrest was spent in the hospital as I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix and required an emergency cerclage (st_tch in the uterus) surgery. After 3 weeks of bedrest at home, I was admitted back to the hospital where I have been since and will be until little girl is born. (I've been here over 3 weeks and if all goes well will continue to be here at least another 5-6 weeks.) I will say that bedrest at home was way more pleasat than the bedrest here at the hospital, but if this is what it takes to get her here and healthy so be. Don't look to how many more days/weeks you're stuck in the bed. It's helped me to look at each day as "1 day down." I also get excited when every Friday comes as that marks another week in gestation for me. You can do it. I'll be honest and say I've had my days where I've broken down, but that's normal. Good luck to you!

hi there I am 31 weeks also, and have been on bed rest all of Feb. My Dr however will not schedule a birth, as he wants me to get "as far as I can" It gets a little easier, and all I can say is that you need to get a schedule of some sort depending on the level of movement you are allowed. Also, as hard as it is, stay off the internet as much as you can because you will freak yourself out!

I had a large bleed at 31 weeks which lead to contractions and I was given similar medication and bed rest. The contractions continued for about a week until I had acupuncture which seemed to do the trick and stopped them completely. I have to say I was skeptical but I thought I would give it a go. My consultant said that every day is a bonus to the baby and that bedrest was my sacrifice for him to be honest that’s what go me through. Bedrest was the hardest thing I have ever done. I am 37 weeks on Saturday and they are going to induce me as they are concerned they still haven’t found where the bleeding came from. I did similar to Jairia though for me it was a Monday. There was days where i didnt think i could get through another but you do. I found the internet a great source of distraction and kept me busy on many days.Good luck.

Thank you so much for all your information. It all has been very helpful. Iam thankful that Im at home and not in the hospital. I know I can get through this it is just hard at first I guess. My doctor did say I could go out of the house to pick my daughter up from school but not to go hang out at the mall for hours.....lol. And he said I can go to my shower this weekend , which is great, but then back to bed. Well good luck to all of you and Im sure I will be around if anyone wants to talk!

lovingmom - I'm not on bedrest yet, but I will be as of March 24 due to a complete placenta previa. It started off as just a partial, and the doctor a__sured me it doesn't cover more, it just moves away, and lo and behold, mine is covering more. I'm not looking forward to bedrest at all! I'm not due until May 21, but they are looking to schedule a csection for me at the end of April as well. I will be 29 weeks tomorrow.
