With Cholestasis 37 weeks is dangerious,most babies in utero when the mom has that die at 37 weeks or more,not trying to scare you,i hope your doc explained this to ya,thats why the want to induce at 36 weeks cus its the safe zone,the lungs may not be ready but the baby will still be better off on the outside in your situation.Sorry you have to go thru that.My cousin had that and she was induced at 36 weeks,her daughter came out perfectly healthy,6lbs 3oz and screaming,she didnt need oxygen or anything,and she went home with her the next day.I know thats not the case with everyone but its possible.Just think not to much longer and youll get to meet your little one.

I never had Cholestasis so I don't know anything about that but I was induced with my daughter at 37 weeks because I had bad gallbladder problems since I was 10 weeks pregnant and I wouldn't let them do the surgery while I was pregnant. She was born at 37 weeks exactly and she was able to breathe perfectly on her own, weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and 19 inches long. The only problems she had were that she was slightly jaundiced, but it wasn't enough to require any treatement and disappeared by itself. And she had a hard time latching onto the b___st, but we figured that out too and ended up b___stfeeding for 14 months. Every baby is different... My baby sister was born 3 months ago and she was born at 34 weeks, she was only 4 lbs but her lungs worked perfectly.

Cholestaisis is a problem that occurs in pregnancy when your liver does not function properly. It can cause problems for both baby and mother.

I have Cholestasis too and not getting induced till im 37 - 38 weeks. The right time apparently is to induce at 37 weeks. Where does it say 36 im getting quite paranoid now...

He is inducing ASAP for me because I have been VERY sick with both conditions. I am currently 15 lbs below pre-pregnancy weight. I also can not digest much now, and things are not getting better. We are waiting until lungs look good then we will go for it!

Mollie, I wish you a healthy baby and hope that after the delivery you improve quickly. It sounds like your doctor has taken as best care of you and your baby as possible and has a good plan in place. Please let us know how thing went as soon as you can. I was put on bed rest at 36 weeks and induced at 37 weeks -- she did need oxygen or anything, she was given a clean bill of health and was a loud to leave once I was ready. 37 weeks is considered full-term, and 36 weeks isn't all that different. Sorry to hear about your gallstones (which is really why I wanted to post). I had gallstones for 11 months undiagnosed and I was in agony. If it's any small consolation, most people I know (and I would agree) that gallstone attacks are worse than labour, or at the very most equal to each other.

Im fine thanks , im not very ill as they have seemed to control it by monitoring me and me taking pills to reduce my acid bile , although im abit itchy and still have the normal signs of Cholestasis. I will be talking to my consultant tomorrow about what will be happening to me. Im just alittle worried as not many docters are clued up about this condition and didnt want my consultant to say i will go full term. Its just a little worry i have thats all.
