I have been diagnosed with boaderline GD, I am 40 and 30 weeks with my first child. One number out of 4 was elevated and Dr. wants me to meet with nutrionist to control it through diet. Until my appointment what is safe to eat througout a day to get a head start on this? I can't get in for about a week. Not sure what to avoid and what is ok to eat.

I have gone through the same thing and I am currently on the diet now. I am 23 and 33 wks. I can email you a spread sheet that was sent to me if you give me your email. Hoepfully it will help. Its all about proportions. Like for breakfast I have speacial K and 2 % milk. Snack before lunch is usually fruit and cheese ( like string cheese or whatever kinda cheese you like) lunch is wheat bread/ turkey and cheese veggie. snack before dinner i eat protein like a banana or i might eat some cheese. Then dinner is chkn b___st/ salad/ veggie cheese 1/2 cup of milk. I don't eat a after dinner snack. They may tell you too but I didn't need mine. Hope it helps!

Vaiad, I am 34 weeks and have GD. I was told that milk in the morning was a no no since sugar seems to be higher than. Give up the sweets of course and eat a lot of protein, meat, cheese, eggs. Some veggies are fine too. I had to give up fruit b/c it was making my sugar worse. Good luck!
