Contraction Stress Test

Anyone ever heard of this? I am almost 35 weeks along now and have been losing amniotic fluid. Lost more today and ultasound showed that level was 6.1, my lowest level yet. I have had steroid shots and baby is huge, almost 7 pounds now. Doc said he thinks my placenta is burnt out also so he is doing this test. I had never heard about it but basically they put you on the Pitosin (sp?) and start contractions to see how the baby handles this, if his heart beat decellerates then it most likely means that my placenta is shot and I will need to deliver asap, but if not they will try to hold me off for another week and a half before delivery. Kind of wondering because I was told there is a huge chance once labor starts they may not be able to stop it. Anyone ever had this test and what was the end result? Thanks ladies!!!

Hi, I had the same problem with my last pregnancy. I had a tear in my placenta. My dr. kept telling me I was not drinking enough water but it was just leaking out. When I delivered he discovered the reason. At 37 weeks I had no fluid left. I never did that test though.
