Could The Ultrasound Gender Determination Be Wrong

I had my level 2 ultrasound at my 17/19 week appointment. I say 17/19 because My due date was the 23 of April then and in February they changed it to the 12th of April. She weighed 7 oz at that appoinment. Anyway, I was told it was a girl. There were 3 very visable white lines. I haven't had an ultrasound in that area since. However everyone tells me I am carrying like its a boy and I am having very vivid baby boy dreams. SO my question is, how many of you have had ultrasounds that were wrong? I'm just trying to convince myself that it is right. I have heard of them being wrong.

If it is a girl there would be no bump between the two white dots, if it is a boy there is a p___s right inbetween and it is very obvious. Look at your ultrasound photos, maybe post them online and let the rest of us look at them.

It's easier to predict a girl and have it turn out to be a boy than the other way around. I had a friend who was supposed to have a girl - and oops, she was surprised by a boy!

I don't know if I did that right .. my myspace is myspace.com/suzie_j86 and they are in the baby/pregnancy album

The first one definitely looks like a girl, let me check out the other one.

You are definitely having a girl. That second ultrasound photo looks exactly like my daughters did. I am having a boy this time and it looks nothing like a girl ultrasound. I had mine done at 18 weeks and there is a big bump inbetween the two white dots. It's alright to be a bit disappointed if you are. I really wanted a boy this time because we have a two year old little girl already and I always imagined having one of each, I also wanted this to be my last pregnancy. I would not chose to do this again, but if it happens it happens. Anyway, if you want to talk about it I'm here.

Well I didn't have my hopes up either way. But once I was told it was a girl I shopping, decorated, and picked out a name. For some reason I just started having doubts, not sure why. I have TONS of pink. Someone said to me a few weeks ago that I might want to have another ultrasound to confirm it. I just dont wont to bring a little boy home in a pink outfit to a pink room, lol. Know what I mean?

If it did turn out to be a boy, then do this. Since you will be in the hospital for two days anyway, have your hubby re paint (get a faimly member to help), and chose new bedding. Hopefully all the tags would still be on the clothes you bought, so you could return those as well. Ask your mom or a trusted friend to go get some boy sleepers and onesies and you are set. See, there is always a solution. Just make sure you have your laptop with you at the hospital so you can show your hubby exactly what you want. I really don't think you are going to need this, but just in case.

well, they can be wrong but usually aren't. When I was pregnant with my daughter they said at her 20 week ultrasound that she was a girl. I was so excited. Then an acquaintance of mine had her baby. She had 10 ultrasounds that said she was having a girl. different ultrasound techs and everything. But he came out a little boy! They were SHOCKED. And I was scared that my daughter would come out a boy too, but she was a girl :o) This time around they said it was a boy at the 20 week ultrasound so I bought everything in boy colors. But I didn't take the tags off until they confirmed it at my 28 week ultrasound a couple weeks ago.

I would definatly say girl.. for you. I took a look at the u/s pics and they look EXACTLY like what both of my girls looks like. My little boy looked much much much different. I would definatly start painting the room pink with that u/s picture. I also wanted to mention.. that its been said that when you have dreams of one gender, youre going to have the opposite. Also I wanted to say that all women carry differently whether youre having a boy or a girl, and carrying low or high really doesnt mean much. Congrats on your baby girl. ~Kristin~

My friend was told she was having a boy...and ended up with a girl but that was 8 years ago...supposedly the ultrasounds are better now.
