Measuring Large

Hi everyone. I was at my 38 week appt today. I'm technically 37w5d and I was told I was measuring 39 weeks. I asked if this was an indicator of size or progress but the dr didn't really give me a clear answer, or rather couldn't tell. I've measured right on schedule the whole time until now. I wonder if any of you have had this and delivered a little early or whether it doesn't mean much. Thanks so much!

well from what i understand measureing a little ahead doesnt mean a whole lot cause it could just be the way the baby is laying im 38w but im measureing 40 but im getting induced next week but its not because of the babies size its because im dialated 5cm and almost 100%effaced but i asked today with me meauring two weeks ahead that if that meant i was having a big baby and she told me no i could meaure two weeks ahead or behind that its fine nothing to worry about but i can tell you for sure next weekend cuase i was measureing 38w at 35w so if my baby comes out big we know why but my daughter was only 7lbs 3oz and so i dont think that this one is going to be much bigger if at all but good luck to you and take care
