I swear "baby names" should be in a forum itself here because of all the ladies asking questions about them ... anyway here is my problem. We are expecting a girl pretty much any day now & deal with me & dh is that I get to pick the first name since I do all the hard work of actually being pregnant & giving birth & he choses the middle name. With our first, a son I chose Carter & dh picked James which I loved - so he did a good job there. For our girl the name I picked is Isla (like Island, sounds like Eye-laa) & when I asked him today what her middle name will be, he was all "i dunno, didn't even think about it yet". I was SO mad, he has been very busy ... just trained for months & ran a marathon last week, working late, we just moved into a new house & he's been unpacking everything. But I'm freaking out that he has no middle name in mind at all & am beging to think I'm going to have to come up with something as it's not a priority to him at all right now. Sorry for the long rant ... but any idea's would be appreciated! Thanks.

hey mama, well first off (please understand i'm not in the habit of making excuses for men HAHAHA--- BUT) i would say hubby sounds really busy so i would suggest give him a little leeway with this --- and remember-- men ALWAYS shrug off stuff that is super important to us- and it doesnt mean he hasnt thought about it... so have some ideas of your own in case he ends up drawing a blank but we thought of our son's name when i went into labor- 9 months of thinking of names and not getting anywhere, and at the very last second it was very clear what his name should be. Sometimes it just happens like that. And if you're about to give birth, don't let this stress you out, relax and enjoy your rest.

If I were you I would chose a middle name just in case. Although, chances are he will come up with a name that you will love equally as much. I am sure that as soon as you asked him if he had a name in mind that he has been thinking about it off and on ever since. If it comes down to it and he hasn't decided, then atleast you will have one chosen that you really like and I am sure he will too.

If it's any consolation, my husband and I didn't choose our son's middle name until we were in the hospital after he was born (he was 5 weeks early)! As for girl middle names, I personally think that Kay and Renee are excellent middle names, since they seem go with just about any other name.
