Hey ladies :) Hope today finds you and your little ones well. As for me I had a checkup yesterday and it didnt quite go as I thought it would. My weight was up 7 lbs!!! (its not like I'm one to sit around and stuff my face and do nothing all day, so we were all kinda shocked) The nurse took one look at my poor fat feet and said, "Well we have a winner on whats causing the weight gain". So she checked my bp and it was 150/90. REALLY high for me. My normal is 112/74. Anyways, there was no protein or sugar in my urine so they didnt seem too concerned...but I still have this "bad" feeling.....any of you experience this and what did your docs do?? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You know, don't worry yourself...easier to say I know and I know how you're feeling, but to read it, it sounds totally normal at this stage (even if not for you) and you're way healthier than you think so don't worry yourself! If you think about it too much, it'll get worse. Nothing to have a bad feeling about. YOu're almost at the end and you're going to have a very healthy baby boy or girl! I"m due Sept. 30th with my 2nd (had my first this past november). At least you know what most of the weight gain is from! Swelling and water retention, etc. and not because the baby is getting huge or because you're stuffing your face. When are you due?

TJ, I'm popping in here from the Infant board. I had a little girl this past December, but I experienced something like what you did late in my pregnancy too. About two months before my due date at a routine check up, my BP was about the same level as yours, where my normal level was 120/80 or less. Also same as you, no protein in my urine. They had me lay on my left side for about 15 minutes and checked my BP again and that helped lower it. My dr. took me off work at that point and put me on modified bed rest. I had to lay down on my left side several times a day and try to keep my stress down. I was already being seen every week by then (I'm also a type 1 diabetic with history of preterm birth, so I was being watched very closely). I went to twice a week appts shortly after that. No major problems and delivered naturally at 37 weeks. DD is very healthy and a bundle of joy! Watch for things like swelling in your face (that's supposed to be a worse symptom than swelling in the feet), seeing stars and dizziness. If any of those happen, call your doc right away. Good luck!

Hello...I'm popping in from Infant Care also...I had that happen during the last month of pregnancy with my daughter. I was sooo swollen and gained a ton of weight the last month. Almost 10 pounds in a week at one point!! My blood pressure wasn't crazy high, but higher than usual for me. But I also had no protein in my urine. Everything turned out fine though. Just as I thought I couldn't handle my feet b__wn up like balloons anymore I had my little girl about 2 weeks before my due date...maybe youre closer than you realize too! just make sure they keep an eye on the blood pressure just in case...good luck!
