I am 38 weeks, and I was wondering, is anyone else out there, this far along experiancing pain in your thighs? I have also lost my mucus plug, get braxtin hicks all the time, and get sharp va___al pain from time to time, is the thigh pain just something else I need to add to the list as "normal"?

Has your baby dropped yet? When you have the pain in your thighs, do you also notice any lower back pain or lower abdominal cramping? If so, those are probably real contractions and you might be effacing. At your next doctor visit, they'll probably check you out for that since you're so far along. I haven't had any thigh pains, but I do get sharp v____al pains and the back and abdom. pain and I found out yesterday that I am effacing and starting to dilate, so good luck! =)

I started having the thigh pain a few weeks ago as well as pelvic pain and pressure, cramping in back and tummy. I was checked last week and nothing had happened which is good since I was only 32 weeks. I still have all that same pain, so I suppose it is just normal, I am not sure.

Have the pains gotten worse since you've last been checked? I guess it's different for all women, so it would be hard to tell whether or not it's the real thing without being checked by your doctor/midwife. Hope everything goes well for you!

What is round ligament pain?
It's generally a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester of pregnancy. You may feel it as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting up from a bed or chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. Or you may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day, say when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.
The round ligaments support your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause you pain on one or both sides of your abdomen. You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your pelvis (where your hips are). The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.
