Ok, so I just have this random question. I am 35 weeks 2 days pg and I read in several different internet articles as well as magazines that sudden frequent bowel movements could be a sign labor could begin within the next 48 hours. I am normally very regular and have had no constipation this entire pregnancy. I usually go #2 at least two or three times a day. But since yesterday I have been going EVERY TIME I go to the bathroom to pee and that is like every 15-30 minutes. My question is, as far as you ladies know, could this truly be a sign at 35 weeks? For those of you who have had children, did u experience increased bowel movements? One other thing . . . what does lightening feel like. Everyone says I am carrying lower, and I feel as though my pelvis has suddenly expanded to full capacity with a ton of bricks. However I don't feel the typical "easier breathing" or "less intense heartburn". Thanks for all your answers in advance!!

Krissy I remember having this exact thing happen to me last year. I am the same way as you, never had constipation at all- really regular (same for this pregnancy I am only 19 weeks) but around 35-36 weeks I started getting really "loose" bowel movement and lost my M-plug. Actually I think I lost my M-plug around 37 weeks but I don't remember. All the signs of labor started. So I was like...wait I thought this doesn't happen until labor is close or is labor nearing? Well I ended up going into labor at 39 weeks and the first sign of it was that I thought I had to go to the bathroom...so I went in, it wasn't loose stools like I had been having but it wasn't like my normal stuff either (TMI-sorry) so I just went back to bed a__suming that was it until 8 min later it happened again! That was the beginning of it- I had the babe the next morning! And what happened with my with my M-plug and Bloody show....I lost my plug about 8-9 days before labor and show was 24 -36 hours before labor started....Everyone is so different though...that is just me!

I still have heart burn and the breathing problems BUT when my baby dropped, I looked down and my belly just looked different. When I tried to feel for the baby he felt farther away. And hip pain. I didn't have too much pressure/pain before but now any time I sit or lay down too long I feel it. --- As far as the #2, I don't know if this is a for sure sign of the end. Loose stools do happen near the end of pregnancy, but I've had that come and go in the last month and no baby yet. At 35 weeks, though, you will have a little bit to go so I'd try to take it easy and not worry too much about whether or not its about to happen.

Hey Krissy, not sure if this will help but one thing i noticed when i was 35/36 weeks is that i had a lot more labor type symtoms like going to the bathroom, mentrual cramps etc etc, and then all of sudden my body went quiet. and honestly i've been getting menstrual type cramps now in my 40th week so go figure. i don't think you have anything to worry about unless you see blood from what all the ladies keep telling me.

I'm not worried. My doctor says because my baby is measuring about 3 weeks ahead that she would be super happy if I went into labor anytime. Otherwise we may have to schedule a c-section because of her size. I really don't want that, although I am not crazy enough to try and induce myself. I have just been curious. Thanks for all your help and ideas.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I just want to say good luck, Krissy! I hope you go into labor soon. My water broke at exactly 35 weeks, and Jack was measuring two weeks ahead at my last ultrasound at 33 weeks. He was 6 lbs 6 oz when he was born and in great shape. Can you believe he's now 6 months old?!

Whoa, I guess I've lost track of time. I just noticed the date, and he's actually 7 months today! I totally understand how you feel. I was well over being pregnant by the time my water broke. You get short of breath doing the simplest things, your hips hurt from sleeping on your side with the extra weight, you haven't had a proper night's sleep in moons and you feel like a house. Pregnancy was fun for most of it, but those last couple months can be pretty d__n tough.

Hey Lin, how you been!? Krissy pray that you don't go full term it gets so much worse. i've never ever been so uncomfortable and in so much pain. my pelvis feels like it's going to snap and that's not an exaggeration. i have SPD. my ob is so worried about a big baby and keeps saying that he thinks the end result will have to be c section as well. but he still wants to see if i can do it on my own. he actually sceduled me for induction tomorrow two days before due date. well i hope i have some news to post before monday. Lin, how ttc going for the second one? 7 months that's just crazy, to me all of this seems so unreal especially since we spent so long in the ttc phase. i remember those days when i first came on and didn't know anything about temps charts and fetility friend monitoring lol. and now look at us...it's awesome to follow the history.

It is, isn't it? We've been doing great. We're gearing up for an overseas move in a few months, and ttc is kind of on unintentional hold until my cycles sort themselves out. I'm currently on day 30 of my latest cycle, and I think I only ovulated 3-5 days ago. I guess b___stfeeding is keeping it screwy. Good luck with your induction! I look forward to reading the news! Sorry Krissy, not trying to hijack your thread...
