When Did You Begin To Prepare

I'm just a week away from my third trimester and I feel like I haven't prepared at all! It seems I have a million more things to buy. When did all of you begin to paint your nursery, buy toys, clothes, cribs etc.? Do you feel like you started too late/early?

i am at 33 weeks and i think i officially decided it was time to start getting things ready at 27-28 weeks. about the only things i dont have are bottles and diapers. but i learned from a friend that too soon was better then too late! she was so preoccupied with school and work and a 3 yr old that she had 1 week to go and didnt have anything!!!! thats when we both went out and shopped till we dropped! plus, now would be a great time to go buy things because it seems like there are tons of sales on baby things right now!! once you start to get into the baby shopping mode you will be done in no time!! good luck!

i definately thought i was starting late...i think i was about 33 weeks when i started (right after my baby shower) and honestly...Now i dont have ANYTHING to do...i had my labor bag packed by week 34. So im sure you have enough time...with me it was more did i have the energy lol. I had an energy spurt after baby shower though. I sort of wish i handnt started so early cause now i dont have nothing to do but sit around and count the minutes and wonder if my water is going to break before week 41 :-) I didnt have a paint a nursery though.

I am 37 weeks and I still have a few things to get like my son's bedding but he will be in a ba__sinet for a little while so I am not worried about that and I need some 4oz drop in liner bottles but not hurry on that either since I am b___stfeeding. Other than that I am pretty much ready. We had a baby 17 months ago so that is where most of the stuff was already prepared. To be honest when I was pregnant with my dd which was my last pregnancy, we were ready way early and the reason for that was because my friend had her baby 1 1/2 months early and she wasn't prepared so we wanted to be ready. Like Treshala said "if you get everything done too early you could end up bored trying to find more to do" Babies could always use more and more stuff but lord do we have the moola to just shop till we drop for baby. Funny thing is that my husband always complained that it never failed, we always ended up shopping in the baby department for something we needed or just wanted to get, LOL. It got old for him but of course I am a woman and it never gets old for me!!! I love baby shopping and they only stay a baby for so long. Good luck with getting ready.

I was probably an early bird... at 20 wks I started getting worried about being prepared with all the basics in case he was a premie (fortunately I already had my shopping list prepared), and by 24 wks I was in an absolute panic about it and driving my poor DH insane. I'm rather glad I got the basics done early, though, because now at 29 wks I'm able to take my time with the finishing details and focus on preparing for the birth, not to mention it's a lot easier to do everything with a little bump than it is a big bump.

I learned after my dd was born at 36 weeks and we had almost nothing ready (nursery, clothes washed, bags packed, etc) to not wait too late. My mom and dh had to go home from thehospital at various points to do things and get stuff thathad we been prepared wouldn't have had be handled that way. This time around we had the nursery done by 34 weeks, clothes washed as we got them, and our bag packed by 36 weeks. Of course now all thatis done, I'm 38 weeks and dialted to 3cm , and no sign of baby. Go figure. lol Bottom line: don't delay too long, it will cramp your style to bring baby home to incomplete projects.
