i think everyone kind of blew this out of proportion. it was meant to be a funny picture. no one said "holy cow this man is pregnant!!". only that it was a funny picture. i think it's funny looking and sometimes we need to learn to laugh at things instead of a___lyzing the hell out of everything. no wonder americans die so young. too serious!!

OOOOH it is so easy to consider yourself open minded as long as it is reguarding something you believe in. Take that into consideration. The good thing about people is that they are free thinkers and believers. By me or anyone else not believeing in this type of lifestyle means nothing to anybody else but ME. I am not killing anyone or even saying a word to this person so who cares. Get over yourself lin and open your eyes to the FACT that your belief is yours and the fact that mine is different does not make you better or anything else it just makes us different. You are the real judgemental party here. Grow up!

Can you seriously do nothing but throw insults? If you have a point to make, then make it. Provide an argument for why it's unnatural and wrong, rather than just calling me names for disagreeing with you. I brought up Hitler earlier as an extreme example of why beliefs are not acceptable just by virtue of being beliefs. Counter that argument, rather than just ignoring it. Sure, you being hateful toward people who are different isn't at the same level, because you are not physically inflicting pain on anyone, but that doesn't make it ok. Would it be ok if someone expressed their "belief" on this forum that someone of another race was somehow "wrong" because they're not of their race? Is that ok just because they're a bigot without hurting anyone? You are exposing yourself as one who thinks lesser of other people who do not live as you do and 2) has no rational justification for thinking they way you do (if you did, then you'd happily provide a reasonable argument here rather than just hurling insults). Why is it so hard for you to discuss this like an adult? Teddyfinch - I'm not arguing with the OP, because you're right. She was just saying something was funny, and I appreciate that. This argument started when people started being bigots by downing on others' way of life just because they don't understand it (and not just tryin44).

This is too funny. LIN, you are the one who can't see both sides. I don't care if someone is gay!!!!! Yes, I think it is wrong. I have gay friends and gay neighbors. They all know my beliefs and are fine with that. I like them as people but think what they do is sick and wrong. Get over it already. I am done with this post. Reread your comments and see who is being irrational LIN.

ummm... last I checked this was a pregnancy forum??? Not a gay debate forum...anyways...I think we got a few hormones running wild now...can we just agree to disagree and leave it at that? :)

Once again, point out exactly what is irrational about anything I've said. You haven't done that yet. Why? You can't. In fact, I'm not even convinced that you know what that word means. Fefer - Come on, that's just a silly thing to say, and you know it. If you don't want to read this, then you don't have to read it. It's as simple as that. Just because you don't like reading arguments (i.e. debate - well, at least on my part) doesn't mean they shouldn't be here. There are loads of other threads all over this forum that are not pregnancy-related. Forums do have specific topics, but it is the nature of internet forums to deviate from that topic now and again. And actually, this thread IS pregnancy-related.

Fefer, arguing does not equal emotional. There's not a thing I've said on this thread that is emotion-driven. Though I guess you do have a point, because tryin44's comments clearly are.

oh wow seriously LIN.... i do believe that you are the first and only one to throw insults as you sit there trying to lay blame on others for your unintelligent name calling. why don't you refer to your own first post where as you called others 'a jerk'??? now i am gonna stop adding fuel to this fire and refrain from posting on this thread and continuing this argument with you that seems to be going nowhere. have a nice day.

I didn't call anyone a jerk. It was a question, not a statement. I did call you closed-minded and self-righteous, but that was in response to your slagging off other people. You, on the other hand, called me stupid, ignorant, called my point of view "word vomit," called me disrespectful when I most certainly was not and repeatedly told me to "get over myself." Cla__sy, tryin44, really cla__sy. You're right about one thing, though. This is going nowhere. The conversation could actually be an interesting debate if you could just calm down and make a reasonable argument to prove your point. Instead, you've just shown you have no point and just want to judge people without being questioned.

Oops, I meant to say diskolove in the above post, not tryin44. Please excuse the typo.

Oops, and it was tryin44 that was slagging people off at the start, not you, disko. You just did that to me later.

not that it really matters now that the can is opened but the photo in the original post really is a man and a woman - the couple Trying44 is referring to can be seen by googling Thomas Beatie or first pregnant man - that couple is the Asian SHEMAN and her partner who is caucasian....this photo is just of a man with a beer belly and his pregnant wife. too bad we couldn't all just laugh and find the humor in it.....

LOL wow. First of all, Cors is correct. This is NOT the couple that was in the news. This is an actual man and woman. The woman appears to be pregnant, and the man is either fat or photoshopped. The photo is meant to be funny. So all of this could have been avoided - however, some people are wayyy too quick to jump on the bandwagon and start spewing their beliefs forcefully on others as if it were the one true word and no one else could possibly have any other merit in their own beliefs or lack thereof. I have to agree with LIN in that a lot of the comments stated came across quite bigoted and hateful. Particularly Kiersten who apparently knows the one and only truth about everything and everything is black or white to her, which, well, all I can say is wow. Is it hard being so wise? Does it hurt sometimes? Wow. And Disko... is it really necessary to be so rude to the one person who was trying to stand up for those who were just dragged through the mud??? LIN, kudos for standing up for yourself and for those who live lifestyles differently than what is considered the "norm" by the closed-minded in this world. Something that everyone needs to realize is that we are all human, and we all have feelings, whether gay or straight, we all have a right to exist and be who we are. And let me pose a question to those who believe in a creator - isn't it said that God is perfect? Could a perfect being really create something that is imperfect? Would he make such a mistake? IF he did, wouldn't that then make him imperfect too? You could also apply this to the thought of God creating man in his own image, would that not make God an imperfect being as well? Because if God created all mankind.. then it must be said that he also created those that are gay or lesbian as well, and if they are so wrong and sinful, then does that not make God wrong and sinful too? Isn't it easier (and NICER) to just a__sume that they have as much right to be them as you have to be you? Nobody is asking you to be gay, and if you are or aren't then good for you either way. If you think it is sick, then don't do it or be around it, but don't go telling everyone how sick they are if they do. I firmly believe it is not a choice, and there is a good deal of scientific research to back this up. I'm not saying that you don't have a right to think as you wish, but really you should be thinking before opening your mouth sometimes, because you could really offend some really good people out there by being so bigoted about things. Gay and Lesbian folks have feelings too, ya know. And its not like they are having s_x in your living room. And if they are then... well maybe you should step out on out of the closet and quit being a hypocrite, hmm? I have always heard that it is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, after all. Anyway. Momof5, the picture was funny. Thank you for sharing it! Anyone else is perfectly ent_tled to hate me all you want for saying what I think, and I promise I won't lose any sleep over it. Hating those who think for themselves is a great way to show your strong Christian values, after all. Don't you agree? I usually don't even bother with arguing on these forums about things, but this one just went way over the top I think. Gay people are people too. I'm sure they think straight s_x is a bit gross too, but they aren't calling you immoral for doing what (and who) you like to do. It is sad that some people plan on raising their children to be so full of hate. I hope someday that everyone can just live and let live, and coexist with each other, but I guess that is asking too much. What a sad world we live in.

Oh wow this did open a can of worms - I actually thought it was about the couple that was just on oprah but obviously not. Also I just wanted to add that I was just saying that the news have really run riot with this story and how they keep saying first man pregnant blah blah blah - like its some miracle when in fact she was a woman and still has her woman baby making parts - does this make sense? I know its a very sensitive topic but just because i said this (in my original post - 3rd from top) it doesnt mean I am against gay relationships etc etc - it was just a comment on the topic. :)
