Red, when I got the 4D done, they told me to bring either apple or orange juice. That usually gets them moving. Have fun! It's the best. I have decided to go back one more time in about a month.

The physical therapist seems to think that it's not just sciatic as I've had it before off/on prior to pregnancy. He thinks I may have a slipped or rotated disc or a pinched nerve. Bad thing is, what they would normally do to treat it is harmful to baby. So need treatment for me. It hurts, but I'm learning how to cope with the pain. Today it seems a little less intense (at times). Somebody please fast forward 6 weeks ahead. By then I'll be 35 weeks. PLEASE??????

Hey Jaira, if it is a rotated disk (like me), I understand your pain. I couldn't go to work today becaues it was so extreme. I went to see the ma__sage therapist and he was able to help, but as I was on the ma__sage table, I had another "pain attack". It was really bad. I made such a fool of myself crying (like that's really going to help with the pain, right???), but there is not much relief possible, except to ma__sage and take baths. And for you Jaira, it may be worst just because you are lying down. I know that's the worst position for me anyway. I usually try to sit like an indian and that helps a bit. I'm with you: let's forward to 6 weeks ahead... I'm 30 weeks today.

Hello ladies, I was lurking here. I am due May 7, but have also been home on modified br for placenta previa, a small bleed behind the placenta, and even more recently I was hospitalized for over a week for Gall Bladder attacks. I need to have it out, but at 31 weeks, it is hard to get a surgeon around here to even consider. We had so much difficulty getting pregnant that I never thought that being pregnant would be this hard!

Hello Ladies! Just moved over to the 3rd trimester forum. I hit 28 weeks yesterday! I'm on the home stretch now. DH and I attended an all day Prepared Childbirth cla__s today. It focused mainly on relaxation techniques and lamaze breathing. We also talked about signs of labor and watched an actual birth video. There was no blur over the icky stuff like you might see on Baby Story or some other birth show. They even showed the delivery of the placenta. It was quite shocking to see. Just curious... are any of you planning on having a mirror in the delivery room so you can see what's going on down there??

RMC - March 2

Hey Mollie, we are in the same boat. I had a bleed behind my placenta earlier on, about 13 weeks, that resulted in BR for 3 days in October. Then, instead of my placenta moving up, it actually went from a partial previa to a full previa, and I have to go on bedrest here in 3 1/2 weeks, at 32 weeks. They wanted to do it at 30 but I pretty much begged for the extra 2 weeks. Then, they are looking at delivering me around 36 or 37 weeks to avoid any spontaneous bleeding that the previa may cause. I have to go in for another u/s on Tuesday and then they will determine how early and if I have to get an amnio and all that stuff. I've never had any problems like this with my previous 4 pregnancies. However, I do know that because I have had 4 pregnancies and 3 csections, my risk went up. Jaira - you poor thing, I would love to speed time up for you, especially since I will be in the same position shortly. jen - I have to turn away sometimes on a baby story, baby diaries, etc. when they are doing the delivery or c section, so no way will I be watching lol. Everytime I see how rough they are during a csection it scares me because I had no idea! I told dh he can't even record that part because I'll never be able to watch it! cggirl, I know dh must think I'm a drama queen because I cry over the back twinges as well sometimes. At least I'm not the only one (: reneenay - those 3d/4d u/s are awesome aren't they? I got so lucky the ER took some and printed out pictures for me.

Good morning ladies! Jen and Mollie: welcome! How's everyone doing? Jaira, what's up with you? No posts in a few days, I hope you are allright!

I'm okay. I check this thread daily. I've just been bummed the past few days. I'll get over it. I can do bedrest, but 3 weeks in the hospital (and still counting) has been not so wonderful. The food sucks (had to return a few trays...1 due to bugs another couple due to hair in my food). My pain in the b___t is constant. Plus baby's heartrate keeps dipping at times. Don't get me wrong. I love being able to listen to her heartrate daily, but having to stay on the monitor for sometimes 5 hours at a time with very little movement isn't necessarily my idea of fun. Okay, enough complaining out of me. I'm very thrilled that I have made it this far and that she's okay. My doctor wouldn't have thought I would still be pregnant as this all began over 6 weeks ago. I'm just hoping the rest of my hospital stay goes by rather quickly. Okay, I'm done complaining. How's everyone else?

Evening, ladies. The 3d ultrasound went fantastically. BF wasn't able to make it since it was scheduled on such short notice, but the good news is that the person doing the training for the tech wasn't there that day, so the tech said she'd give us a call when the trainer plans on returning. Another 3d! Most women only get one 2d ultrasound their entire pregnancy, so I feel very lucky to get to go back. It was amazing watching him. Its one thing to see a little skeleton moving around, but its so different to see an actual baby on the screen. It made it so more REAL to me. I could see when his little lips moved, his facial expressions, everything. He looks so much like BF but he does have my mouth and chin so that makes me feel better lol. And we finally settled on a name! It will be Gavin. I'm still getting used to it, but it seems to fit his little face (another plus on getting a 3d!) and we both put the name on our list. ---- RED, eating anything will give your little one some energy. Some women will eat a little bit of candy to get their little one's moving. I have never eating anything specifically to boost the little ones activity, personally. He's a mover and a shaker all on his own. You might be surprised and how much your baby does that you still can't feel. JEN, not me! I tend to focus better with my eyes closed, anyway. Not to mention that I'm really not too interested in what everything looks like down there while thats going on! Its neat, but it makes me cringe every time I see a birthing video and I think for me, personally, it'd probably do more harm than good to see it happening to my own body! MOLLIE, welcome! It seems like a lot of may mommies have had it rough with their pregnancies. I hope you and JAIRIA get to feeling better.

Hi ladies! ChattyKathy, its true...it seems like a lot of May mommies are having complications. I feel extremely lucky (big knock on wood). Chatty, I LOVE the name Gavin. Great choice! I think it works great for a child and an adult. Well, yesterday I turned 29 years old...and 29 weeks! Strange coincidence, huh? Anyway, I had a nice B-day and I'm feeling really good. I also pa__sed the 3-hour glucose test with flying colors. They can't really figure out why I didn't pa__s the first time. But that was a relief. Okay, so here's something strange that started happening to me about 2 weeks ago. My left nipple is leaking colostrum...just a few drops each day. But not my right! My Dr. thought it was a little weird that it was just one side but said it was normal. Anyone else leaking already? I was a little surprised. DH and I start childbirth cla__s on wednesday night. We'll be going for the next 7 wednesdays...I think it will be pretty extensive. DH and I have already seen real births so we've gotten that one out of the way. We went and saw the doc_mentary "The Business of Being Born." I highly recommend it. It's very informative! Jairia, hang in there, honey. Hospital food sounds disgusting. Hopefully you can get someone to bring you in some treats now and then! Welcome, Mollie and Jen! Belly rubs all around.

reneenay - March 3

Oh ya, no mirror for me either! I'd rather not see my v____a stretched to capacity!

RMC - March 3

Jaira - bugs and hair, how horrible, you poor thing! After my last c section I had dh sneaking me food from mcdonalds and lots of candy bars lol. Everytime the nurse would come in I would hide it.

ChattyKathy - March 3

Oh yeah, completely forgot to comment about the food situation. Thats horrible! You'd think a hospital of all places would be more sanitary than that. Thats disgusting. Its too bad that hubby isn't closer or else you could make him bring you dinner, too! RENEE, I haven't started leaking yet, but if I try to manually express it, it will come out. My right side seems to be the dominant side for how much will come out and was that way with my last pregnancy too. I'm sure its normal. ---- And since we're asking about experiences here, has anyone elses little one been getting the hiccups? This kid gets them ALL the time. Last night was horrible because I was trying to sleep and every time he'd get the hiccups he'd hit my pelvic bone. I'd feel a little thump thump thump right there. I tried to change positions to get him to move more to the center of my stomach, but no luck. I thought I was going to go crazy until it finally stopped! I don't have a problem with him going crazy in my tummy, it was just that thumping on my bone! And today he had them, too. It seems like its almost every day or every other day that he gets them.

reneenay - March 4

My little guys gets them more than once a day...and he has hit my pelvic bone too. It can really hurt sometimes!

reneenay - March 4

Little guy...not plural!

Jairia - March 4

I totally wish we lived closer to the hospital so that DH could bring dinner daily. This is getting old. He's going on a shopping run for snacks, drinks, etc. in a few days so that if I run into the gross food again, I'll have a backup plan. The bugs not only grossed me out but ticked me off. I had a conversation (not the most pleasant) with the food service lady. My l/o does get hiccups quite a bit, but because she's always moving it doesn't bother me much. Plus I'm laying down all day long so I guess I'm used to it. My doc came in this morning. We'll probably have an amnio done around 34-35 weeks, and if her lungs are fully developed at that time, then we'll go ahead with a c-section. So, I may be only looking at 4-5 more weeks instead of 6-8. YES!!!!
