RMC, congratulations! You'll have a baby in your arms by tomorrow! Thats great news! But i'm sorry to hear the amnio didn't go so well. At least its over with and you can move forward with motherhood! =) RENEE, congrats on the shower. That seems like an awesome surprise and was very nice of everyone to put together for you. --- I added one more pillow to the mix last night and FINALLY got to sleep almost through the night... minus a couple of times where I rolled over and once I had to get up to use the bathroom. But it felt AMAZING, I just didn't want to get out of bed. ahhh... I just might survive the next few weeks!

RMC: you must be so excited!!! I'm excited for you! I'll think of you tomorrow!!!! Good luck! Reneenay, I do hope things "turn" for you! :-) I had my weekly OB appointment today and she decided not to induce me early for now. She scheduled me for a NST on Saturday, and then ultrasounds at weeks 39 and 40 if necessary, just to ensure of the well being of baby girl. I gained 3 pounds this week!!! OMG! But I hadn't gained anything the 2 weeks before that. Weird he! So, who's after RMC????

reneenay - April 23

ChattyKathy, that's great that you got some sleep. I don't know why or how, but I've been sleeping so good compared to a month ago. But I think it's from pure exhaustion! CgGirl, I am glad to hear the good news that you won't need to be induced. That must have been a relief. Hey Wv_red, I can't wait to feel like I'm not going to fall off the toilet either! My feet hurt so bad now. I was literally barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen tonight, making dinner, and afterwards they hurt sooo bad! I might have to hang up the apron for now ;-) RMC, tomorrow's the big day! I'll be thinking of you! Team member number 5 is on his way! I can't wait to hear all about it. CgGirl, I was wondering the same thing...who is next? Mayb you!

Hey ladies just wanted to pop in and say hi. Had a really bad scare today. I was at work and about 830 my tummy started cramping, i was okay thats uncomfy then it kept getting a lil stronger after a lil bit of time went by. Then it got to where it hurt and you could tell it hurt. My friend was asking me what was wrong and I told her my tummy was hurting and getting tight starting at the top and moving down the sides. She told me I was having contractions. I was like yeah right, so I called the nurse sure enough i was having contractions. I went home for an hour drank alot more water and layed on my side and timed them. They are running 5 mins apart and lasting about 60 secs. I go to the docs, i am still having them and they hook me up to that thingy that measures them and my l/o's heart rate. I would get a nice strong one then her heart rate would jump to 170 + then go back down to 120 - 130. They dont know whats causing them, they are not opening my cervix I am at home still having them and these are not fun, they hurt. They did cultures and stuff to see if i have an infection in my bodyy that is causing them. But since I am 35 + wks they wont stop them and I can walk around like this all the way up till I go into full labor. I dont think I can take 30 more days of these. They are not Bh's she confirmed that and just told me if they become more intense or water breaks go to the hospital. Yeah talk about scary. Chatty you are so lucky!!! I wish sleep wasnt extinct for me. But that is great you found a secret! Renee, i was wondering the same thing... who is next and I cant wait to read RMC's birth story and see pics!!! CG when are you due again??/

Rachel H - April 23

Hi, I'm 35 wks, and 1 day- due May 27th. My back is killlllllling me so bad. Does anyone know anything that might help?

ChattyKathy - April 23

RED, wow! I'm sorry you're in so much pain. Unfortunately I do know a girl who had contractions for a week before they finally put her out of her misery and induced her at 38 weeks. I hope that isn't the case for you! Do you think you're ready if the baby were to come now? I'm just as far along as you and I don't even have my bag packed. I guess thats something I should do but for some reason I just haven't been able to get myself to even look at a list of suggested things to pack! RACHEL, aw, yes I definitely know what thats like. I've taken to putting a small pillow behind my back when I'm sitting. If the pain is particularly bad, I'll lay down on my side (usually with a pillow, too) After a while it begins to help, although not always right away. Hopefully that works for you. I feel your pain!!!

Rachel H - April 23

Thank you ChattyKathy! I will definately try that. It kills me at work, because I sit at a computer for the majority of the day. I don't remember having back pains like this with my first pregnancy. Actually, my first pregnancy I didn't have any problems. This one is definitely more uncomfortable and I kinda can't wait for it to be over with... I know that sounds bad :( When is everyone else due? We are almost there!

reneenay - April 24

Hi Rachel, I'm Renee and I am due May 19th but have a c-section scheduled for the 15th. My back actually hurts worst in the morning, probably because I am so uncomfortable during the night. I warm bath really me. Also a heating pad works wonders too, just only set on medium heat and nothing higher. Hope that helps. Red, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain! I hope it goes away. I know it would be really hard to put up with. As for me, not one BH contraction to date. Am I the only one that hasn't had any?

reneenay - April 24

Wow, who would ever believe that I was an English/Lit major in college with the way I write on here sometimes! These pregnancy hormones have really done a number on my brain! What I meant to say was, a warm bath really helps me! Lol!

CgGirl - April 24

wv_red: wow, what a day for you. I hope you can get some rest and stay home... My due date is May9th but it looks like you are going to give birth before me! :-) Rachel: I had terrible back pains. Saw a physio a few times: my pelvis was higher on one side than the other so she gave me a few exercises to do (Stretches) and it worked. I also take a bath with epsom salts almost every day... Decided to stay home today. I'm almost on mat leave (May 1st is my last day) but it was just too much for me to bear today. I hope RMC is doing fine... she has her little one in her arms now!

Rachel H - April 24

Hey Reneenay, is this your first baby? With my first baby, I didn't have any BH contractions at all. I'm having a lot now (this is baby #2)... they started for me around like 30-32 weeks, but it was only like 1 or 2 every other day or so. Now, I'm getting about 5 a day. I have another question (sorry I'm full of questions, lol)... I posted this in the Labor thread but did get any responses, so I'll ask what you all think. Does primrose oil help soften your cervix and maybe help you dilate? I just started taking these caplets (by mouth) yesterday, and I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever taken these??? With my first pregnancy, I never dilated/effaced at all- even when they went to induce me- and I had a 9 lb baby! I was a week over my due date though. LOL

Rachel H - April 24

Thanks CgGirl for the help. I'll try taking warm baths too. It's just hard finding the time. I work all day, and my husband works night so I'm having to take care of our little 2 year old daughter (who really gives me a work out), plus I'm taking a cla__s online that keeps me busy as well.

ChattyKathy - April 24

RENEE, funny you should mention that. I actually asked that question on my lj group just yesterday. I hadn't noticed any BH contractions, but the ladies pointed out that something you do have them but you feel them differently. Maybe instead of feeling tightness or pressure you feel like you can't breathe or like you are having light menstrual cramps. Or you may not be able to feel them at all! Whether its that you can't feel them or you just aren't having them, i've heard both responses from women and both situations seem to be normal.

wv_red - April 24

Hey guys how is everyone doing??? Rachel welcome!!! Glad you joined our group!! Chatty I was scared as I could be yesterday. I mean I am ready for her in a sense but I want her to stay put as long as she can to be fully ready, you know. I have my bag pretty much ready just a few things I need to put in. Its scary how fast this is happening, all I could say was its too early for this to be happening. Well I decided to move my leave forward. My last day is May 2nd. Everyone didnt think I was going to come back today but here I am sitting here at my desk still having contractions. At least I got use to the to a point, they are not nearly as painful as they were. I just want my baby healthy I will take whatever comes to me. Rachel I think there is a thread on here somewhere about primrose oil and people that have used it. Maybe that will help you. Also try a heating pad for your back if nothing else works. Oh I am due May 24th but the way its looking I dont know if she will stay put that long. Well Ladies I hope you all have a great day and thank goodness tomorrow is friday!

ChattyKathy - April 24

RED, I'm glad you updated and its good to hear that you aren't in as much pain. I feel you, its hard to imagine that this pregnancy is almost over even though I am getting anxious to meet my little man! --- I had my appointment today and... bummer. She said I'm "not quite dialated" but she did say that my cervix was really, really soft. I knew it wouldn't mean much even if I was dialated, but it'd be nice to think there was some progress being made. SIGH.... So, I guess my little one is staying put for a bit. Thats good news, but I still wanted SOME progress to be made. Just One cm? please?

laurenn11 - April 24

Hi Everyone, Today marks the start of the 37th week - almost full term. I can not believe it. I was getting a ton of contractions last night, but not so many today. About back aches. Mine was hurting terribly too. I walked 5 miles today and it is gone (but now my feet hurt). We are almost there. A couple of you sound as though you are having pre labor symptoms. Good luck!! Lauren
