I have experienced that with both my last pregnancy and this current one. My nipples never got so dry they cracked but they did get the whiteish dots on them. I do know the whiteish dots are the colostrum that your body has to produce for the baby if they are going to b___stfeed. I know that with some women their b___st start to leak or they can rub the white stuff and its cake like. Sounds gross but that is normal. What I would suggest is to put some vaseline on your nipple if they dry and crack so it can stay moisturized. I wouldn't put alot just enough to rub a thin layer on. You can also put a b___st pad over your nipples if that makes you feel more comfortable. I know even when I was b___stfeeding I would take one of my disposible b___st pads and rub vaseline in them and place them on my nipples. They would get sore or even crack. Also there is nipple cream available in the stores to relieve nipple pain or dryness. GL and I hope that helps.

amanda - the best thing I can recommend for you that will help get your nipples back to being soft and supple is Lasinoh nipple ointment - it's totally safe to use while nursing and since you have noticed now it's a great time to get your nipples ready for b___st feeding - even if you don't b___stfeed it will keep them from cracking - it's a miracle ointment and 1 tube lasts a long long time Good luck!
