Ok, i am 35 wks today and yesterday i almost passed out at my docs office. for the last few days, i've had headaches, swollen feet and hands and a little in the face, and felt queezy, been short of breath. so she made me go to the hospital, and my bloodwork was ok, but she is making me do a 24 hour urine test to check for protein and creatines. has anyone had this and it not be caught in the bloodwork? or maybe its just starting and they can't catch it yet? or will a urine test be more accurate? ive had 2 kids but never had this before.

I developed pre c with my son 3 years ago, the Dr. was able to confirm it thru a urine test by checking protein, I don't even think they did a blood test for it. But I had the same symtoms - brutal headaches, dizzyness, swelling of hands & feet, high blood pressure ... all started around 28 weeks. They put me on a strict low sodium diet & bed rest for the rest of the preganancy & I had my son at 37 weeks. But your almost at the end, so even if you do develop pre c they will likely put on on bed rest & if you deliver early your baby should be fine.

Hey cnasmom. I had pre-e as well when I was pregnant 21 months ago. They also found it with a 24 hour urine test and I was induced at 37 weeks. I had no other symptoms though. Just swelling in my feet/legs. They did blood tests on me as well, but like I said, I was diagnosed by the urine test.
