What Do These Cramps Mean

For the last 2 days I have been sometimes like menstrual like cramps. They are painfull and annoying. I dont remember getting these my first pregnancy, except when I went to be induce and was contracting. Has anyone had these and what do they mean? BTW I am only 31 weeks so I doubt its labor. They have stopped for now.....

Hi...I can't really say for sure...but I was about 34 weeks and 4 days when I started having the same kind of menstral like cramping. Luckily, the next day I was due to see my OB, so i told her what was going on...that and I was having some pretty powerful BH contractions (but no pain). So, she decided to check my cervix. She discovered that I was already 1cm dialted...which doesn't necissarily mean anything because I hadn't started thinning out at all. But she was not surprised that I was dialating a bit because of the cramping I was having. So, I don't know if the two are connected...but in my case it seemed to be. If your worried I'd call your doctor and get checked...if anything, it will put your mind to rest...and It think that right now, we could all use a little peace of mind. Good luck to you.

Hey Jess- Well I don't know from personal experience (had a section) but I was reading in the "What to Expect" book last night that it can be a sign of labor starting. Let me know what your doctor says! Colleen

Well, they only last for 2 days and then stopped, so I guess everything is ok. Maybe I was just doing too much, or maybe I was kind of dehydrated, b/c I was really, really thirsty those 2 days. I'll let everyone know if they start up again. I hope its not labor, that would be too early!!
