Potty Training Reversal

I have a 3 year old boy that started potty training at 2 1/2 and was almost immediately in underwear. For 6 months he was completely potty trained then about 2 months ago he started pooping in his underwear. So after throwing away most of them because they were too dirty to be cleaned, I started buying pull-ups (bad idea). He now poops and pees in the pull-ups and wants nothing to do with potty training at all. Could it be his way of staying the baby because his little brother is getting bigger (he's 18 months) and wants attention, or could it be because I am 7 months pregnant and this is his way of coping with another baby. I am just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem.

I had this problem with my 2nd son and it was hard as heck. I started potty training him at about 2 and he would poo on the tolite but the pee was the hard one. When I would put pull ups on him he would pee and poo in them which drove me bonkers lol. Well anyway I started taking him pee every 1 1/2 hours and would put him in underwear and this worked, it was time consuming but well worth it. when he was about 2 1/2 he was always in underwear and my daughter was about 2-3 months old and getting more attention so he starte dpooping in his underwear, he would pee in the tolite. I would have to tell him hes a big boy wearing big boy underwear and he cant be pooping in it because thats what little boy's do. I should add he wore pull ups only at night. Anyway about 2 or 3 more poos later I kept saying big boy little boy and I was frustrated so the last time he poo'd in his underwear I threatened to put him back into diapers. needless to say I shocked him enough that he stopped doing it.
