Any Advice Welcome A Bit Confused

Hello. And thank you for looking at my post. Twins run in my family, my mom in fact, and I have been told through an old wives tale, so I know not to take it to heart, that I will have 3 kids, 2 of which will be twins. I already have 1 little boy, and have had 2 miscarrages since. The last being 12 months ago. Of course I would like to have twins, but just to beable to conceive 1 at the minute would be a blessing! I did a pregnancy test yesterday, and it showed a faint positive, but then AF showed last night, but not even 1/4 of what she is normally like. It started of with the brown blood spotting (sorry for TMI!), then it has gone even redder, but still like I said, not even nearly full force as normal. I had spotting before, only with it being brown. I'm just a bit confused. Why the faint positive when AF was just gonna show a few hours later? I have read that if you have conceived multiples, then symptoms can start earlier and be more magnified. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm just a bit confused at the minute. I'm desperate to be pregnant again whether its twins or not, I just don't want my son growing up as an only child like i did. If you have had multiples or are pregnant with multiples, what were your symptoms like? I do appreciate this! Many thanks ladies!

From what you described its sounds to me like you had a "chemical pregnancy"... in other words you were pregnant, but lost it VERY early on... that happened to me in 2003. I was so excited with the + test and then 1 day later I got AF. Anyways... also, if you are just spotting it could be implantation bleeding. Early on in my pregnancy w/my trio I had a LOT of brown spotting and then a little farther along about 9/10 weeks I had bright red bleeding. Good luck

If it's not normal for you, maybe you should have things checked by a doctor. I hope you get your wish for a healthy & happy pregnancy! Good luck!

It does sound like a chemical pregnancy to me, too. I had one. It was a positive HPT that just got fainter and fainter until AF showed up. You should take another HPT and see if it shows a darker positive. When I was pregnant with my twins, I got a very dark positive right away about 5 days before I was supposed to test since twins usually (not always) give you a higher HCG level. Seeing that the test was a very faint positive could be a chemical pregnancy, a evaporative line or defect in the test, or you may be experiencing implantation spotting, but I don't think it is supposed to be like a period, just some minor spotting. I wish you luck!
