My father's grandmother (my greatmother) had twins, then my father's cousin had twins. What are the cahnce I may have twins. I am only asking because I hear a heartbeat on my dopple then another one in the same place that is mor faint and a little softer, but is that an echo? I haven't had an ultrasound done, anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunately, twinning is something that isn't influenced at all by the male side of things. It only runs in females, because it is more than one egg being released. The only other way to get twins (Identicals) is for the egg to spilt, which is still very much a mystery to scientists, it is unlikely to be hereditary at all.
It's probably an echo, the only way to tell is to get an ultrasound done.

twinning can totally come from YOUR father's side -- because you get half his genetics. When they say it doesn't come from "the father's side" or "the male side" they are talking about the man who fathered the child inside of you and his twin genetics.
