Bleeding For One Day No Fetal Pole

As of April 15, 2005, I found out I was 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. On Friday April 22, I had some heavy bleeding which only lasted for a couple of hours. I was told by my Midwife to go to the Emergency Room. They did a whole bunch of tests. When they did my Pelvic Exam they said my Cervix was still closed. Then they did an Ultrasound and a Transva___al. When I was waiting for the test results, they said that it looks like very early twin pregnancy, looks like two sacs. No Fetal Pole. Also, they said my HCG result was high which came back at 34,413 mIU/ml. They told me to follow up with my OB/GYN doctor in 1-2 weeks. My first initial appt. is on May 9 so they told me to just keep that appt. They told me it was too early in my pregnancy for them to see anything. I am scared because they did not see a Fetal Pole. Also, I have not had any bleeding since last Friday. I am so scared. Should I be scared and concerned. I am just worried that if it is definitely twins that I may have lost one. Could this be the case? Please help!

I think it was to early to see the fetal pole so I wouldn't worry about that. As far as your bleeding goes so people are completely fine. Maybe you should talk to your Dr. about progestrone suppositories or prometrium. I have heard that they can save pregnancies.

Don't get yourself all worked up because then you are causing more stress for the babies. I believe it was to early to see the fetal pole also... I had some bleeding when I was 10 weeks pregnant and found out it was a bacteria infection. Right now they have me on progesterone injection I have to give myself once a week because my cervix is shortening and I have had a preterm birth in the past and at high risk now that I am having twins. I believe when you are expecting twins the fist 5 months are the main months you have to baby yourself and the babies.

Hi Megan. I was curious as to the update of your pregnancy. Your situation sounds a lot like mine. Let me know if you get a chance and good luck to you.
