I see that quite a few people are taking clomid and while I understand for those who have difficulties in getting pregnant this is a good option. I wonder if everyone checks out the dangers of taking clomid too long? I was lucky enough to get pregnant naturally, but I have good friend that used Prescribed clomid for her first child and wants to have a 2nd child and the dr (a different one from the first) told her that studies show that there are horrible side effects years down the road for mothers who used clomid longer than a few months.. Just curious if anyone else has heard of this or thought about what they might be doing to themselves in order to get pregnant?? Good luck to all of you..

The U/P users have been warned of many of the risks: ruptured ovaries, cysts, infertility, multiples ( and all the problems a__sociated with them) cancer, etc. Unfortunately,They don't seem to care. Their desire for multiples is stronger then their desire to protect their children, so they would risk children with major health problems just so that they can have more then one at a time. Clomid has a purpose and an infertile woman using it prescribed and monitored has less of a chance for all of these negatives.

I believe they don't want women to take clomid for more than 6 cycles (I am no expect on this though). Clomid is a safe drug as long as it is doctor prescribed and you are monitored on it.

I have also read that it shouldn't go over three months. The article I read also said that sadly, some DR's let their patients take it for a lot longer when they shouldn't.
