Yes, I have never come across twins who weigh the same. Your doctor will tell you if there is any reason for alarm.

Hi :)- At 31 weeks, my baby A (boy) weighed 3.9 and baby B (girl) weighed 2.7. I had another U/S today 34 weeks and the boy weighs 5.9 and the girl weighs 4.9. My peri said that as long as they are growing parallel, they are doing great. Good luck with your twin girls!! :)- Miss

I know with my doctor he said that as long as they are within 25% of eachother.. everything is fine... mine at last scan on 11/8 A was 2lbs 6 oz and B was 2 lbs 8 oz... i go again 11/30 for another ultrasound

Im not sure if this will help but.. i have a twin siter we are identical and i weighed 2 pounds 4 ounces and she weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces big weight diff but we are both health 16 yrs later so its normal for twins to weigh diffrent

I'm sure it is perfectly normal. Every baby is different and with them being faternal I'm sure it is common. How did you determine that they were fraternal already, amnio.? I'm also pregnate with twin girls. But the dr. said that we won't know if they are identical or fraternal until tests after birth. Plus they just guess at the size with an ultrasound. It's not definate. Told me my 1st gril was going to be 9.5 lbs the day before I delivered and she was 8 lbs. 11 oz.

my twins were the same size and I was told THAT was weird! Every twin mom I have ever met had at least a lb. difference between twins.

I had the same situation happen during my pregnancy. The babies were always about 1 lb in difference. I went in for wkly ultrasounds and at wk 33 the baby that was behind by 1 lb caught up!! They were born at 34 wks weighing 4lbs 11ozs and 4lbs 13 ozs. I don't think you have anything to worry about. That is not that big of a weight difference to cause too many concerns.

im 33 weeks pregnant now with faternal twins, which are a boy&girl. My son is 4lbs even and my daughter is 3.6lbs. I was worried at the first but my dr. said it happens alot. I was admited to the hospital for a week for twin discordnace but they just see im a tiny girl and wont get that big. Good luck to you and my due date is sept 27, 2005 so wish me luck.

I have been told that as long as they are not more that 20% different than eachother, not to worry. It looks like they are right around that 20% mark, so I wouldn't worry too much. If it was a something to really worry about, I'm sure your specialist would let you know. At my 30 week ultrasound, mine were 3 lb. 14 oz. and 4 lb. 5 oz. Still made me a little worried with 6 oz. different, but like I said... don't worry until the Dr.'s are worried. Good luck!
