Getting ready to start my 1st cyle with gonal f & IUI. I had a laproscopy due to a cyst on left ovary and endo, October of 2005 and my OB said that everything looked good and that he flushed my tubes at the time and they were clear. Went on Lupron to suppress any more endo growth. Finally started back on a normal mensus cycle September last year so basically I've had 6 normal cycles. We decided to go to a specialist to speed up the process because of my age. Took the clomiphene challange and I passed and my husband did a SA and everyting looked good with the exception of the morphology 3%. Has anyone with similar circ_mstances and age had success with the Gonal and IUI? Thanks ?

I'm sorry, I think I missed something. How old are you? Is it okay to ask that of another woman?

We conceived by IUI when I was 31 & dh was 36. Gave birth when I was 32 & dh 37. 38 is really not too far off. We used puregon & a trigger shot. The injections really aren't that bad. We however did a few rounds before we got it right. Hubby also had a very low morphology but with the IUI, the sperm is washed, meaning only the best swimmers are used. Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Is this your first try? Do you have other children?

He has 2 boys from a previous and I adopted a son when I was single. I went for my baseline ultrasound & bloodwork today and the doc said everything looked good. This is our 1st attempt with help. When we received our consultation on our results the doc suggested IVF right off the bat due to dh morphology. We decided to go ahead and try IUI 1st with injectables and if that doesn't work we'll go ahead and move on to IVF/ICSI if nothing else is a factor with me. I have 5 sisters and everyone of them has given birth, one has 6 children and the rest between 2-4 each. I just feel that I come from a fertile family and I hope that's in my favor. I responded well to the clomiphene when they did the Challenge test, so hopefully his sprem will cooperate as well and be strong little swimmers.

I come from a fertile family as well. My sis had 3 girls, one after the other! We have 2 other sets of twins & 1 set of triplets in my generation. Well for now, I'll cross my fingers for you. Go swimmers go!!!

Did my 1st shot last night not bad, but I have a high pain tolerance too. Go back to the Doc on Thurs, can't wait. I'm excited and scared about this process all at the same time. I worry about a BFN, I know sometimes it doesn't work the 1st time. I've taken pg test and seeing that BFN over and over again is so disappointing. My husband is more worried that we'll have trips or more, I think one would be a blessing considering our circ_mstances.

Tell him not to worry about triplets too much. Most credible fertility docs monitor follicle production so closely that if there are too many they will either cancel the IUI for that cycle or ask you if you want to try IVF instead. I'm sure all will be fine. If you see the doc again on Thurs. you'ss only have 3 shots in, so it seems like you're being followed very well. Where do you live? How are you feeling following the first shot? Any side effects? Try to get plenty of rest...you'll need it!

I feel tired & have a slight headache, but I wake up at the crack of dawn to do morning reports and get kids off to school. So being tired & the headache aren't neccesarily from the meds. I work out of my home right now, until my company hires a manager for this region. I'm in the wonderful state of Oklahoma, lived here most of my life. If I heard the doctor right yesterday I have approx 5-7 follies, he said it was a good sign, so I'm a__suming we are on the right track. Thursday he'll decide how they are progressing and increase my dosage if he feels that is necessary. From what I gather at that point I'll go in every other day and possibly every day dependent on the growth. This process reminds me so much of chemistry, everything has to fall into place without a hitch. I have faith though and we'll come through it no matter what, it's still nerve racking though .

Sounds like you have your hands full. Do you have a good support system around you? I'm a__suming you're going to use the trigger shot. That one is a bit tougher. Hve they told you about baby asprin or low dose asprin. It can help with implantaion. Don't use it however without a doctors concent as it can cause internal bleeding. This is not something that is good for everyone. In some cases it can even cause m/c so talk to you doctor first. The nest week is going to just fly by & the nest thing you know your legs are in the stirups & all modesty is out the window! Try & have an enjoyable Easter. You will be in my thoughts. I may be too busy to check in but I'll be waiting to see how things go!

I'll ask about the baby aspirin and helping with implantation. I wish we could do more about my dh's morph, I put him on supplements that I read would help, so we'll see. Have a Great Easter!!!
