I went to the RE on Friday & had my hcg test. My #'s came back at 265. I had a second lvl check today (monday) & in 3 days my lvls are at 931 already. I had an IUI done this cycle & the u/s done before hand showed 2 sacs developing... What do your hcg's do when you're pg with twins?? The nurse said they were expecting my lvls to be in the 500's today... not the 900's.

There is too big a range of normal hcg #'s to tell if it's twins just by the numbers alone. When do they plan on doing another u/s? How many days are you? As far as the what hcg's should do, a healthy pregnancy with double every 48 hrs. or so. Mine did that even with the twins (they were higher than expected, but doubled appropriately).

I'm not sure how far along you are. We found out at 8 weeks, but many people have found out before that. The heartbeats should be visible by 5.5-6 weeks.

Lashes, I'm just a bit confused by what you said about 2 sacs developing before IUI. Did you by chance mean 2 follicles? A birth sac would not form before ovulation so what you saw was probably follicles. My twins, due in the summer, are by IUI. My levels in were in normal range. But the normal range is so huge that #s aren't a way of telling how many are in there. We found out by u/s at 7wks. How far along are you?

I will be 5 weeks tomorrow. My RE refered to the egg sacs as just that. When I went in for my u/s to see if I would ovulate he called them egg sacs. The sacs that the eggs develope in before release. He never used the work follicle. I realize it is the same thing however he didn't refer to it as that. By the time I have my u/s the 23rd I should be 6w2d.

At your next u/s you should be able to find out for sure how many. When I found out at 7wks it was by internal u/s which can show more early on than external. Do you know what kind of u/s you'll be having?

I'm sure it will be a pelvic u/s. I'm a bit overweight & it's just easier for them to do it that way. I've had several pelvic u/s's & just one external one. Even that time they still did the pelvic :)
