Hello ladies,
My wife is now 20 weeks pregnant with twins. To date the pregnancy has been pretty difficult for her. She has been quite nauseous and has severe cramping all the time.
During the first few weeks (about 4-6 weeks) of the pregnancy when we were away she spotted twice. After that she did not spot. But continued to be nauseous and crampy.
This weekend on Saturday she noticed a pinkish discharge after she went to the bathroom. She immediately called the health care facility that has been looking after her. First she spoke to a nurse. The nurse suggested she come into the emergency clinic and have it checked out. We decided to get a second opinion and wanted to speak with the doctor that has been attending to her at the same health facility. Unfortunately, the regular doctor who attends to her was away. Therefore, my wife spoke to her replacement. The doctor suggested it was nothing bad and that she wouldn’t need to come in. We were quite relieved.
However, this morning my wife noticed a pinkish reddish discharge after she had been to the washroom.
Now we are really scared. She has scheduled an appointment with the doctor.
Our most recent Dopler and Ultrasounds were performed two weeks ago and everything was fine. My wife is scheduled to visit a special twins clinic in the city in which we live who will be her primary caregivers from now up until the birth.
Has anybody else experienced any spotting or severe cramping in the second trimester?
Also note, that the first two incidents of spotting and these new incidents all occurred after intercourse.
We are freaking out now about everything.

I would abstain from intercourse at least until your wife sees a doctor. From the minute I found out I was having 3 we were told no s_x until after babies were born. My situation was different I had 3.. I dont know how twin pregnancy works. Good luck

I would think the spotting is just from the intercourse. However you should always get checked out when there is spotting in the second trimester. I did have some bleeding at 23 weeks with my triplets from an irritated cervix. But I was also on a bloodthinner that made it worse. Definitely get it checked out and like TripletMom said, you might want to abstain until after the babies are born. Good luck!
