Heartbeats Over Doppler At 14 Weeks

Hi. I had an OB appt today and the dr checked the HB with a doppler. He got it right away, but he didn't even attempt to find the second one. He said that at this stage it is too difficult to find both HB. I had an US 2 weeks ago and it showed both babies doing well. Has anyone had experience with this? I do know that at the US one of the babies was in an awkward position and they had difficulties seeing it.

Hi Rhiannon - I just wanted to say hi since I've posted to your other thread on TS. It is difficult to hear at that stage, but insisted with the one Dr. that didn't look for 2 "because it's hard to distinguish them". We also used a rented home doppler in between visits to help rea__sure us.

Thanks Melissa. It was actually from one of your posts that I found TS. It is wonderful. I do feel better about the doppler hb thing now. I guess I'll always find something new to worry about. It's funny, but I worry when I'm not worrying. If I'm calm I think "There's something I should be doing right now. Oh yeah, worrying." I've been at home for 3 weeks now (dr ordered rest). I think I should go back to work. LOL

I know all about that bed rest thing!1 It just gives you more time to worry over everything & anything!! :) I had the same experience at that time. The fetal heartreate was the same all over the belly even though u/s showed a significant difference. I think your right about the position on the babies effecting it. Our boy was always facing in so it was hard to get his heartrate early on.
