Ok so I read that identical twins are passed through on the fathers side and fraternal twins are passed through on the mothers side. So if I dont have twins in my family but he has two sets of them in his, then that means it came from his side and they should be identical right?

I always thought that only fraternal twins were genetic and that identical was just luck of the draw. So probably identical but not necessarily from your husband's side.

I've heard so much contradictory info... I've heard that twins are only pa__sed on through the mother's side, but I don't think that is true. It is in my case, however. If you are preggo with twins and they only run in his family, I really don't think you can tell what they are going to be - unless they are sharing a sac. Have you seen them on a u/s?

Fraternal twins are hereditary on the mother's side. Identical twins just "happen"... no one knows why the egg splits.

No women s bodies decide whether you have twins your egg either splits or you drop 2 eggs if twins run in your family that is the only determination!
